REGULAR MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
August 14, 1975
Mayor Childres assembled the meeting at 7:35 PM. Pat Turner
gave the invocation. Members present were Steve Radakovich,
Mayor Childres, Stanley Jernigan, Bill Bishop and Pat Turner.
George Lowery was absent.
The Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved as
read.
Mr. Owenby, from Dale Milford's office was present. He offered
their services in any way they could help.
Mrs. Elkins was not present.
Mr. Cook and Mr. Reed came to apply for a gas rata increase.
I~~ir. Glade Reed was the spokesman for Lone Star Gas Co. He ex-
plained the reasons for the increase. He presented an ordinance
fixing and determining the General Service Rate to be charged
for Sales of Natural gas to residential and commercial con-
sumers within the city limits of Kennedale, Tarrant County. Mayor
Childres recommended that we approve the rate increase ordinance
#75-6. Mr. Turner made the motion to accept ordinance #75-6
seconded by Mr. Radakovich. The rate increase will be effective
30 days after approval. The four councilmen present all voted
yes. The motion carried.
Earl Richards came to see if something could be done about th
mosquitoes in his area. He advised the council that he had
discovered and corrected the cause of the mosouitoes under his
house.
Mr. Radakovich suggested an increase in the water deposits,
service and taps. After a brief discussion, the council de-
cided to have a work session to discuss this latter. No date
was set at this time.
Mr. Marshall read Ordinance #75-3 which gives the City Secretary
authority to act on building, plumbing and electrical permits
in the absence of the building inspector. Mayor Chi.l.dres recom-
mended that Ordinance 75-3 be accepted. Mr. Radakovich made
the motion, seconded by Mr. Jernigan. The motion carried un-
animously.
Mr. Marshall read Ordinance #75-4 concerning business permits.
Mayor Childres recommended that Ordinance #75-4 be adopted,
Mr. Radakovich made the motion, seconded by Mr. Turner. The
motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Childres recommended that we hire Jack Yates to be our

City Administrator.. He said they agreed that his starting salary
would be $1 ~Gb0.00 per year, with $100.Q0 per month car
allowance and 5% of his retirement. Mr... Turner. made the motion
seconded by Mr. Bixhop. The motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Mathis presented his budget and reports for July and August.
The council did not meet in ,Tt.~ly.
Mr. Jernigan gave a brief report on the Mayor's Co~incil Meeting
he and Mr. Turner attended August 4, 1975.
Mayor Childres maintained a motion to adjourn. '~~r.. Bishop made
the motion seconded by Mr. Radakovich. The meeting adjourned at
1n:00 P.M.
