03.07.1975 CC Minutes632 PUBLIC HEARING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL March 7, 1975 1 Mayor Childres assembled the meeting at 6:55 P. M, Members present were Steve Radakovich, Mayor Childres, Stanley Jernigan, Bill Bishop and Pat Turner. Mr. Marshall read the proposed. amendments to the zoning ordinance 69-5. The changes recommended by the zoning commission were as follows: A, Minimum livable floor space for residential buildings, exclusive of garage, porches, and breezeways, or incidental storage areass 1400 square feet for single-family residences= 1600 square feet for two-family residences (duplexes)s 800 square feet for 1-bedroom apartment, or 1,200 square feet for two-bedroom apartments, or 1,700 square feet for three-bedroom apartments (but no less than 800 square feet per family unit), for multi family residences. B~ Minimum open lot area, exclusive of buildings, for residential build- ingss 3,000 square feet per unit for 1-story residential buildingss and 2,700 square feet for each additional story. C~ Minimum off-street parking spaces for residential buildings: 2 vehicle spaces for each single-family residences 2 vehicle spaces per family unit for each duplex or multi-family residential building. Mr. Love, Mr. Don Lyon, Mr. Wayne Winters, Mrs. N. T. Childres and Paul Mathis were present. Mr, Lyons and Mr. Wayne Winters were opposed to the 1400 square foot minimum. Mr. Love said he didn't feel that the council could tell anyone how much a person could spend on a house. The council assured them that hard- ship cases would be considered. Mr. Winters said it was difficult to get a 1400 square foot house financed. After a thourough discussion, Mayor Childres maintained a motion to adjourn.
