Regular Meeting of the Kennedale
City Council, August 12,1976
Mayor Radakovich assembled the meeting at 7:25 P.M.
Bro. George Malis, from the Kennedale Baptist Church, gave
the invocation.
Council Members present were George Lowery, Clara Sanderson,
Mayor Radakovich, Stanley Jernigan, Bill Bishop and Pat
Turner. Mr. Callaway was here in Mr. Marshalls absence.
The minutes from the July 8,1976 meeting were approved as
written.
Mayor Radakovich read resolution #76-17 Reappointing Dr.
William R. Warr is D0. as City Health Off ice r.,~and commending
him for his having served as city health officer for 19
years. Mr. Jernigan made a motion to adopt Resolutions
~1~76-17, seconded by Mr. Lowery. The motion carried unan-
imously.
Mr. Teague, Kennedale School Superintendent, presented the
dedication of the street adjacent to the new Kennedale
High School. Faye Moren is dedicating the st reet and asked
that it be named Moren Drive. Mr. Lowery mad e a motion
to accept the

Mayor Radakovich read Ordinance ~~76-4 vacating portions of
Caylebaite and 6ixth streets. Mr. Jernigan made a motion
to adopt Ordinance ~~76-4, second by Mrs. Sanderson. Mrs.
Sanderson, Mr. Jernigan, Mr. Bishop and Mr. Turner voted
yes. Mr. Lowery abstained. The motion carried.
Item ~~6, Request of Development Incentivies, was tabled
until the next meeting.
Mr. Wayne Winters and Mr. Teague explained the proposed
Ambulance Service to the Council. Mayor Radakovich recommended
we wait until the next regular meeting to decide on this.
Mr. Callaway had a previous appointment and ldit the meeting
at this time.
The council approved Southern Pacific's request to park
mobile homes on their property on a temporary basis.
Mr. Lowery made a motion to pay the Periodical Estimate
~~4 (WPC-TEX-1004) to Leonard Hazel in the amount of
$52,348.70 Mrs. Sanderson seconded the motion. The motion
carried unanimously.
Item ~~5, Consideration of Police Car Bid, was tabled until
the next meeting.

Mr. Lowery asked to be dismissed because he had to go to
work. He left the meeting at 9:00 P.M.
The council discussed tractor bids, and decided to wait
and get some more prices before purchasing a tractor.
Item ~~7, Consideration of appointing Library Board, was
tabled until the next meeting.
Item #10, Discussion of plans for Community Center
Improvements, was tabled until the next meeting.
Mr. Yates asked for a worksession August 26, 1976. The
council approved his request.
Mr. Mathis gave the financial report. Mayor Radakovich
asked for, and received, a report of expenditures. Mayor
Radakovich advised the Council that Chief Halverson had
suggested that a police officer, off duty and out of uniform
be allowed to collect warrants if h~ wanted to do this.
The council discussed this thoroughly and decided that
this would not be the wise thing to do. Mr. Mathis asked
permission bb transfer $10,000.00 from C.D.'s General Fund.
This would reimburse General Fund for the check he had
issued for the park land. Mr. Turner recommended that
this transfer be made. The council agreed. Mr. Mathis
was instructed to Transfer $700.00 from the Revenue Sharing
Fund to General Fund to cover the cost of the survey on
the park land.
Mr. Yates told the council that he had come to an agreement
with Mrs. Helen Smallwood concerning the sewer easement.
She agreed to give the city easement through her property
if we would pay her the money that two taps would cost.
These taps were for her house and the small house by hers.
Mr. Turner said he was not in favor of giving her a tap
or the money, and the council unanimously agreed with him.
The council instructed Mr. Yates to' offer the tap with only
the labor provided by the city.
Mayor Radakovich recommended the meeting be adjourned.
Mrs. Sanderson made the motion to adjourn, seconded by
Mr. Bishop. The motion carried unanimously. The meeting
adjourned at 10:25 P.M.
