01.08.1976 CC MinutesPage 656 Book 4 REGULAR MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL January 8, 1976 Mayor Childres assembled the meeting at 7:30 P.M. Jack Yates gave the invocation. Members present were George Lowery, Steve Radakovich, Mayor Childres, Stanley Jernigan, Bill Bishop and Pat Turner The minutes of the December 11, 1975 meeting were read and approved as read. The council discussed the proposed sewer ordinance for forty-five (45) minutes and decided to table this item for a worksession, Mayor Childres recommended that Robert Brown and James Rodgers be ap- pointed to serve on the planning and zoning board. Mr. Lowery made the motion to appoint Robert Brown and James Rodgers as planning and zoning board members, seconded by Mr. Radakovich, The motion carried unanimously, Mr, Yates exp?aine~? the Tarrant County Community Developement Act's grant appli_~at;_on, resolution No. 76-1, Mr. Radakovich made a motion to accept resolution #'76-1, seconded by Mr. Turner. The motion carried unanimously. Mrs. Sheridan Brewer, representing the Community Action Agency, discussed the Community Action Agency's lease agreement. Mayor Childres recommended that we accept the proposed lease agreement as revised. Mr. Turner made the motion to accept the lease agreement, seconded by Mr. Lowery. The motion carried unanimously. The departmental reports were given and discussed at length. The main- tenance of the city vechiles was discussed. The council agreed that a daily log sheet will be kept on each vechile. The water department men will have the responsibility of checking the cars, trucks, and tractors each day. They will change the oil at a regular interval. The regular mechanical service and checks will be done by Willie Willis's garage. Mr. Marshall advised the council of the tax suit the school had filed against Gunter, Willie Mae Pearce and Schmalried. These people have paid the school, and they are ready to dismiss their suit. Mr, Marshall advised the council that there is $184.00 City taxes against the Gunter property, $951.07 against Willie Mae Pearce's property and $27.31 against the Schmalried property. Mr. Marshall said we have the right to file an intervention on this suit and attempt to collect these taxes before this suit is dismissed. The council agreed to have Mr. Marshall draw up a resolution to file an, intervention. Mr. Radakovich made a motion to adopt this Resolution # 76-2, seconded by Mr. Turner. The motion carried unanimously. Mr. Yates advised the council that he had obtained an estimate on the re- painting above the railing of the water tower of $2,000. It was agreed. that the Council would be the Judges of the City Seal Contest, February 12., 1976. Mr. Yates advised the council that Mr. Keeton was willing to trade park equipment in the amount of $702.00 for credit on his City taxes. Mr. B° shop ma~'e a moti on to authorize Mr. Yates to proceed with this equip- ment trade, seconded by Mr, Turner. Mayor Childres recommended. that the meeting be adjourned.
