KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
PUBLIC HEARINGS -AUGUST 30, 2007

COUNCIL CHAMBERS
Mayor Lankhorst called the public hearings to order at 7:04 p.m.
Members present: Mayor Lankhorst, Mayor Pro-Tem, John Clark, Councilmember's Brian
Johnson, Jerry Miller and Ronnie Nowell.
Members absent: Councilmember David Green.
Staff present: Bob Hart, City Manager; Kathy Turner, City Secretary; Scott Raven, Fire Chief,
and Clifford Blackwell, III, Director of Finance.
I. PUBLIC HEARINGS
(a) To receive citizen's comments regarding a proposed 2007-tax rate that will not
exceed $0.750000 per $ l 00 of taxable value.

At close of public hearing, schedule and announce meeting to adopt tax rate
(September 13, 2007).
Donnie Graham, 807 Shady Creek, Kennedale, TX registered in opposition to an
increase in the tax rate.
No further comments, Mayor Lankhorst announced the tax rate was scheduled for
adoption on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 7:00 p.m, and closed the public
hearing at 7:06 p.m.
(b) To receive citizen's comments regarding the proposed budget for fiscal year 2007-
2008.
No persons registered to speak for or against proposed budget for fiscal year 2007-
2008.
Councilmember Clark requested that staff provide an easy to read highlighted
cover sheet of the proposed budget increases/decreases so citizens could see what
Council was addressing in regards to the needs of a tax increase, if needed, and
have available for the citizens at the September ] 3, 2007 meeting.

No further comments, Mayor Lankhorst announced that a second public hearing
was scheduled for Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 7:00 p.m., and closed the
public hearing at 7:07 p.m.

IL ADJOURNMENT
Councilmember Nowell moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:08 p.m., second by
Councilmember Miller. Motion carried (5-0).
