A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS, IDENTIFYING AND
S UPPORTING CAPTIAL TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS TO BE SUBMITTED
BY THE CITY OF KENNDEDALE TO TARRANT COUNTY FOR
CONSIDERATION OF INCLUSION IN A TARRANT COUNTY BOND
PROGRAM EXPECTED TO BE PRESENTED TO VOTERS AT AN ELECTION
IN NOVEMBER 2021; CERTIFYING FUNDING FOR THE CITY'S
PARTICIPATION IN SUCH PROJECTS; AND CERTIFYING TIME FOR
COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, the Tarrant County Commissioners Court approved, on January 19, 2021, a
Transportation Bond Program Policy; and
WHEREAS, the Tarrant County Commissioners Court has invited the City of Kennedale
to submit projects meeting the requirements of the Bond Policy's Call for Projects category; and
WHEREAS, the City of Kennedale is experiencing unprecedented growth that places
significant demand on the transportation network of the City, the County, and the region; and
WHEREAS, the City of Kennedale has identified and planned for numerous projects
meeting the criteria for inclusion in the County's CaII for Projects for consideration by voters in a
County Transportation Bond authorization election in November 2021; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kennedale wishes to submit projects,
identified below, for consideration in such a County Bond program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kennedale wishes to certify that funds are
available and will be appropriated for the City's fifty percent (50%) share of projects costs
pursuant to the County's established policy.
N OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KENNEDALE, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1.
P rojects to be submitted to Tarrant County for inclusion in the County's 2021 Bond
Program includes
• Little School Road Extension (including a bridge over the Union Pacific railroad) at a
preliminary estimated cost of $11,998,600;
•
Kennedale Sublett Road Realignment at a preliminary estimated cost of $4,594,000;
• Collett Sublett Road widening and reconstruction at a preliminary estimated cost of
$1,868,900; and
•
Valley Lane roadway erosion mitigation at a preliminary estimated cost of $2,331,250

SECTION 2.
The City of Kennedale hereby certifies that funding for the City's fifty percent (50%)
share of projects costs is now available in the City's fund balance reserves or in Certificate of
Obligation debt scheduled for issuance in August of 2021 and 2024, and construction for the
projects can begin within five years from the date the County's Transportation Bond Program is
approved by the voters.
SECTION 3.
This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval.

KENNEDALE ON THE 16TH DAY OF MARCH 2021.
