REGULAR MEETING
October 4, 2017
CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 405 MUNICIPAL DRIVE
I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman David Deaver called the meeting to order at 7:00pm
II. ROLL CALL
Present: Azam Shaikh, Jeff Nevarez, David Deaver, Gary Swan Absent: Michael Chandler
III. MINUTES APPROVAL
Consider approval of minutes from September 6, 2017 regular meeting. Motion to: Approve
September 6, 2017 minutes Action: Approve. Moved By: Azam Shaikh, Seconded: Gary
Swan Motion Passed Unanimously
IV. VISITOR/CITIZENS FORUM
A. William Hymes from Hi Tech Productions came to speak to sell his product and bring his
expertise to the City and future events. We normally have Grant a sound guy we have used
several years in the past such as the Christmas Tree Lighting. Jeff Nevarez will be having
lunch with Mr. Hymes in the next week or so to discuss pricing and what he has to offer the
City.
B. Expansion of the Disc Golf Course, Bryan Grossman was unable to make it to our meeting
this evening. The Mayor asked Jeff Nevarez to reach out to Mr. Grossman to find out what
exactly they were wanting. He will be on next month’s agenda. There has been an issue with
the Park Hours of operation and the Police Dept. City staff will verify hours and advise the
Police Dept. of correct operating hours.
V. REGULAR ITEMS
A. The Christmas tree lighting will be Tuesday December 5, 2017. We will need
volunteers to help run the hot chocolate/coffee table that we are hosting.
VI. REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. The Concert in the Park was a success. The Lords Acre collected 700 pounds of food
for their store. We will be discussing at future meetings hosting two concerts per year.
Possibly having one of the concerts coincide with Bark in the Park/kid Fish/National
Kids to the Park Day.
B. The Council did pass the budget that is to be determined
C. The splash pad guns have been removed, the bug buggles have been ordered, and
they will be installed and ready for next season.
D. The Glen of Village Creek should have a final in the next week and start building.
E. Hilltop is still moving right along, still paving
F. The Senior Living Center is almost complete, there are already people living in the
center
G. The 105 inch pipe across Hudson Village Creek goes from Lake Benbrook all the way to
Richland Chambers is done in Kennedale, except for repaving that needs to be done.
