Discuss and consider upcoming events. 1. Milkweed planting did not happen. The milkweed plants did not grow big enough to plant. The board decided to hold off on milkweed planting for this year and will try again next year. The holly bushes were removed as planned but were not moved to another location, they were just disposed of. It was a lot of work to dig them out and it was decided not to replant them. L. Hoover stated that the garden looked great and city staff appreciated all the work that the volunteers do to help keep the city parks looking beautiful. 2. Arbor Day event planning was discussed. L. Hoover asked if the board was still interested in having the Arbor Day event the same day as the citywide cleanup. The date for the citywide cleanup has not been set yet but it will occur sometime in early fall. L. Hoover asked if the board was still interested in replacing one of the dead trees in the street median for the Arbor Day event. The board members indicated that they liked this idea. 3. Fellowship Academy sent an email inviting the KKB to participate in their Trunk or Treat event on October 26th. The board declined their invitation due to it appearing to be set on the same date as the Library normally has their Trunk or Treat event. The library has not officially set the date for Trunk or Treat yet but it will more than likely be October 26th. The board suggested that Fellowship Academy could be encouraged to combine their event with the Library's event in some manner. M. Goza will follow up on this idea. VII.
