CALL TO ORDER Chairman Michael Chandler called the meeting to order at 6:03pm II. ROLL CALL Present: Darlene Winters, Cesar Guerra, Wilda Turner, Laurie Sanders, Dora Ann Markle, Vinita Thomas, Michael Chandler Absent: Daniel Medina III. MINUTES APPROVAL Consider approval of minutes from March 13, 2018 regular meeting. Motion to: Approve March 13, 2018 minutes Action: Approve. Moved By: Darlene Winters, Seconded: Laurie Sanders Motion Passed Unanimously IV. VISITOR/CITIZENS FORUM V. REGULAR ITEMS A. April 21st Texas Trash Off Clean up The Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Rotary and the Green Club will be coming. Jason Rivers got approval to clean up the 287 mobile home park, he will be the Team Lead. Chris Pugh and his wife he will bring his grill and help us out cooking the food and helping us serve. Hamburgers and hot dog will be provided half of each to feed seventy-five (75) people. KKB will provide chips, cookies and bottled water. KKB will arrive at 9:30am in Town Center to organize and we will start signing people up at 9:45am. For now we will be on both sides of Kennedale Parkway and 287. Children that we have will handle the Parks, The Girl Scouts (the older girls) will clean up Rodgers Farm Park. Everything will be finalized before we go out. City staff will do inventory on the storage closet to make sure we have all the cleaning supplies we need. B. The demonstration garden does not really need much work sine Kenneth Michaels and Linda Warner came out recently and helped with maintenance last week. KKB will be out tomorrow as well to check on the garden and as long it is kept up we should be fine. Laurie Sanders advised that the library requested milk weed in orange and red in the front bedding where there are blank spaces available. The sprinklers in the garden have been turned on. Laurie will see if she has any of the milk weed in her garden and bring some seeds to plant rather than purchasing new plants. C. May 8, 2018 is Educational Day at the Kennedale Community Center 6pm — 8pm Wilda Turner contacted the Gardner in charge of the Speakers Bureau to get someone to speak on plant propagation, transplanting techniques, and plants. We will have four (4) speakers that will talk about fifteen (15) minutes a piece. Laurie Sanders will ask a representative from Simple Recycling come and set up, she will ask the Historical Society if they will be willing to provide refreshments again. Motion to: Approve to spend fifteen dollars on a small thank you gift to the speakers if KKB finds it necessary to do so Action: Approve. Moved By: Wilda Turner, Seconded: Laurie Sanders Motion Passed Unanimously D. KKB hoodies were passed out to everyone who ordered one E. Tree City USA sent our seven (7) year pins showing that's how long KKB has been members. KKB received a flag that could be displayed at events.
