I. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Brian Johnson called the meeting to order at 5:01 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL
Participating via VideoConference: Mayor Brian Johnson; Chris Pugh, Place 2; Mayor Pro Tem Lee,
Place 3; Linda Rhodes, Place 4; Chad Wandel, Place 5; Gary Mitchell, newly elected to Place 2,
Absent: Josh Altom, Place 1. Staff Participating via VideoConference: City Manager George Campbell, City Secretary
and Communications Coordinator Leslie E Galloway, City Attorney Drew Larkin, Fire Chief James Brown, Library Director Amanda
King
III. REPORTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. Recognition of outgoing Councilmembers
Mayor Johnson recognized Chris Pugh and Mayor Pro Tem Sandra Lee for their service on the
Council. Mayor Pro Tem Lee was elected as Tarrant County Constable, representing Precinct 7 in
the November 3 election.
IV. ELECTION BUSINESS
A. Certification of official returns by the City Secretary
City Secretary and Communications Coordinator Leslie E Galloway certified the official elections
returns to the Council, stating that in the November 3, 2020 election, 4,125 valid and legal votes
were cast, of which 3,708 were cast early and 417 were cast on Election Day.
For the office of Mayor, incumbent Brian Johnson received 2 355 (or 67.90% of the votes cast),
and challenger Jerrick "J. D " Drayden received 1,130 (or 32 10%), noting that there were 640
under -votes in this race. For the office of City Council Place 2, challenger Gary Mitchell received
1,818 (or 54.63%) and incumbent Chris Pugh received 1,510 (or 45.37%), noting that there were
797 under -votes. For the office of City Council Place 4, incumbent Linda Rhodes was
uncontested, and received 2,871 (or 100.00%), noting that there were 1,254 under -votes.
Galloway concluded that, as a result of these tabulations, the following appeared to be elected:
Brian Johnson, Mayor; Gary Mitchell, Council Place 2; and Linda Rhodes, Council Place 4.
Motion Approve. Action Approve acknowledgment of the Council's receipt of the certification of
these official returns for the election held Tuesday, November 3, 2020; and approving that they be
filed within the City's election register as page 74, Moved By Wandel, Seconded By Rhodes.
Motion passes unanimously.
B Consider approval of Resolution 578, canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the
General Election held on November 3, 2020, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and Council
Members Places 2 and 4 for the City of Kennedale
Motion Approve. Action Approve Resolution 578, canvassing the returns and declaring the
results of the General Election held on November 3, 2020, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and

Council Members Places 2 and 4 for the City of Kennedale, Moved By Rhodes, Seconded By
Wandel. Motion passes unanimously.
C. Oath of Office for Brian Johnson, Mayor (2020-2022)
D Oath of Office for Gary Mitchell, City Council Place 2 (2020-2022)
E Oath of Office for Linda Rhodes, City Council Place 4 (2020-2022)
Brian Johnson (Mayor), Gary Mitchell (Council Place 2), and Linda Rhodes (Council Place 4)
individually read aloud both the Statement of Elected Official and the Oath of Office, thus formally
affirming and/or swearing to each.
V. ADJOURNMENT
Motion Adjourn. Action Adjourn Moved By Rhodes, Seconded By Wandel. Motion passed
unanimously.
Mayor Johnson adjourned the meeting at 5:09 p.m.
