Public Hearing # 1- Mrs. Billie Terry's Request for variance to City Code to allow the placement of a mobile home on a residential lot. Mr. Terry explain that the request is made to place the mobile home on his property-for his ~4 year old father to live in. Mr. Kirkpatrick asked if he was able to live on his own. Mr. Terry's response was- Yes, except for his medication and feeding himself. Mayor Taylor asked- "What would happen to the mobile home should something happen to your father?" Mr. Terry's response- I would move the trailer off the property. [] The suggestion was made by Councilmembers to use the rental property located behind Mr. Terry's home for placement of his father. It was also suggested that another elderly gentlemen share these quarters as a companion. Mr. Terry's response to this suggestion was somewhat negative. With no other questions, Council continued into the next Public hearing . Public Hearing ~2- Request for Variance to City Code to allow for the enlargement of Avalon Mobile Home Park. Mr. Spears' re-evaluation of his project was explained for Council's information. Spaces have a minimum of 4,000 square feet. Platting has not been completed prior to Council action. Discussion of street sizes, fire protection, water :meters, access, privacy fencing and parking was discussed in detail. The answers were all suitable to Council. No persons other than Mr. Spears wished to testify. With this, Council closed the public hearings and enter into the workshop for the Proposed Animal Control Ordinance. Workshop The Council met in open session following the public hearings for the purpose of drafting a suitable Animal Control Ordinance. Council discussed at length many changes which were noted by City Attorney. He will submit an ordinances with effective changes for Council consideration during August 8, 1985- meeting.
