A. Consider approval of Minutes from March 1, 2017
IV.VISITOR/CITIZENS FORUM
At this time, any person with business before the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board may speak to
the Board. All comments must be directed towards the Chair, rather than individual board members or
staff. All speakers must limit their comments to subject matter relating to the board. No formal action
can be taken on these items.
A. Danny Wilcox, Biology Instructor would like to discuss the Park Board teaming up with the
Kennedale High School Outdoor Education Club in building installing and maintaining a
monofilament line recycling station
B. Eric Teddy, to discuss the expansion of the Disc Golf Course from a 9-hole course to an 18-hole
course
V. REGULAR ITEMS
A. Discuss and consider hosting a Concert in the Park Event
B. Consider approval of Kennedale Youth association (KYA) dates for the upcoming baseball
season
VI. REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. Kid Fish, Bark in the Park, and National Kids in the Park Day will be held on Saturday Mat 20,
2017. The Flenikien's Island sign dedication will also be held during this event.
B. City Staff is beginning to work on the new budget for the 2017-2018 year ahead
C. The Glen of Village Creek Development off of Bowman Springs will house thirty-three (33) lots
and will starting soon
D. Hilltop Development is underway with thirty-six (36) lots going in
VII.ADJOURNMENT
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the City of Kennedale will provide for reasonable
accommodations for persons attending City Council meetings. This building is wheelchair accessible, and parking
spaces for disabled citizens are available. Requests for sign interpreter services must be made forty-eight(48) hours

I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman David Deaver called the meeting to order at 7:02pm
II. ROLL CALL
Present: Azam Shaikh, Jeff Nevarez, David Deaver, Michael Chandler, Gary Swan Absent:
III. MINUTES APPROVAL
Consider approval of minutes from February 1, 2017 regular meeting. Motion to: Approve
February 1, 2017 minutes Action: Approve. Moved By: Michael Chandler, Seconded: Azam
Shaikh Motion Passed Unanimously
IV. VISITOR/CITIZENS FORUM
V. REGULAR ITEMS
A. Discus and Consider replacing water guns at Splash Pad at Sonora Park, the
replacement without having the equipment broken is simply too costly for the City and
we do not have the funds available at this time.
B. Discuss and consider purchase of urns for the Christmas Tree Lighting and other City
events. City staff will purchase the three urns for city use
VI. REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. KidFish, Bark in the Park, and National Kids in the Park Day will be held this year on
Saturday May 20, 2017. The Fleniken's Island plaque dedication will also be held during
this event.
B. The Splash Pad will open on May 1, 2017 and the hours of operation will be 8am—8pm
daily
C. The Vineyards Phase II has been accepted
D. Hilltop construction should start the 21St of March building 33 lots
E. The Senior Center will start building in the next week
F. The Park Board is looking into holding a concert
VII. ADJOURNMENT
