10/29/1984, Special Meeting Minutes-~kc~C.~ l 3 3 ~ KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL, October 29, 1984, 5:30Pm. The City Council of Kennedale met in special called session on October 29, 1984 which was called to Order by Mayor Danny Taylor at 5:33pm. The following members were present: Mayor Danny Taylor, Mayor Pro-tem J. D. Kirkpatrick, Councilmembers: Richard Bennett and Allan Elrod. Staff present was: Ted Rowe, Gala Kirk, and Linda Jones. Item No. 1 Adoption of the 1984 Tax Roll as submitted by Tarrant Appraisal District. The Councilmembers reviewed the Tax Roll as submitted by Tarrant Appraisal District to Mrs. Jones, Tax Assessor. J. D. Kirkpatrick made the motion to accept the tax roll as submitted. The second was made by Allan Elrod. Motion carried with none opposing. Item No. 2 Discussion of Paving Dick Price Road, North of City of Ft. Worth Landfill. Ted Rowe submitted to the Council two ways of solving the current situation on Dick Price Road. One of these was to use the road as a demonstration project through the City of Ft. Worth. They would use a new method of polverizing the current surface to use as a base for the new asphalt that would~be laid. The construction cost for this method would cost the City $37,700.00. The second solution was to allow the City of Ft. Worth to repair the street temporarily until Spring. The time would allow the City of Ft. Worth to do an engineering study on the road and to submit a recommendation to the City of Kennedale. The consensus of the Council was to allow Ft. Worth to repair the street till spring and to do the study. This concluded the special session of the Council. Councilman Kirkpatrick brought note to the fact that Glen Long, manager of 100,00 Auto Parts, 104 Short Street contacted him in reggards to a sign that Mr. Long had request permission to place near his building. Mr. Rowe was asked by the Council to investigate this matter and to speak with Mr. Long. With no further business, the motion by Allan Elrod to adjourn was seconded by J. D. Kirkpatrick.
