staff. All speakers must limit their comments to subject matter relating to the board. No formal action
can be taken on these items.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the City of Kennedale will provide for reasonable

Co-Chairman Michael Chandler called the meeting to order at 7:00pm
II. ROLL CALL

III. MINUTES APPROVAL
Consider approval of minutes from June 1, 2016 regular meeting. Motion to: Approve June 1,
2016 minutes Action: Approve. Moved By: Alan Pederson, Seconded: Azam Shaikh Motion

IV. VISITOR/CITIZENS FORUM
V. REGULAR ITEMS
A. The Historic Society representatives Rachel Roberts and Martha Elrod with two requests
Fleniken's Island sign draft and to approve them to raise money for the sign. The
second request is to bring the historical Cabin to place the cabin and approval to raise
money for the movement. For the historical cabin to be moved the Park Board
recommended for the Historic Society to take their motion to City Council pending figures
to move the cabin as well as location.
B. The Park Board supports and recommends the idea of naming the island Heritage Island
to please all groups involved.

VI. REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. The Park Master plan was approved by the City Council on Monday June 27, 2016
B. Spraying being done for weeds not to grow along Little School Rd, we will continue the
treatments as long as it continues to work
C. Conservation has gone well so far due to all the rain, we have had no restrictions passed
down by the Tarrant Regional Water District. We have also been speaking to Arlington
about a possible connection to their water system.
D. We have two positive West Nile results, however we have retested and did not come up
with a positive. Kennedale will be researching and possibly treating again as needed.
Tarrant County will be spraying tomorrow because the city of Rendon had a positive.
Tarrant County recommends that we only spray when there is a positive in a human.
E. Jeff Nevarez would like another trash can added to the Park inside the splash pad, the
City will look at adding an additional trash can just outside the Splash Pad.

1. John Oatman would like to hold a discraft ace race event at Sonora park. Every player would receive a players pack well worth the price
of admission .They also allow for you to charge a little extra for charity etc. His idea would be to donate the extra money to a foundation to
back the blue, possibly have a few police officers attend and play the event.
2. The Kennedale Youth Association will be holding football practice in the open field by the restrooms at Sonora Park.
3. Friday August 5,2016 will be a Groundbreaking Event for the two buildings in Town Center that will house the new Chicken Express and
a Dickey's Barbecue Pit. Everyone is invited to join at the Chamber,205 W Kennedale Parkway at 9:00am for coffee and donuts,followed
by the ceremony at 10:00am. The first 25 guests will receive a goody bag. Please RSVP at

4. Monday August 8,2016 at 7:00pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall,the Planning Department has a Town Hall meeting where
residents can learn about a proposed Unified Development Code(UDC),and submit your thoughts. A UDC is a single document that covers
all development-related regulations including zoning,subdivision regulations,design and development standards,and review/inspection
information. This cuts down on overlapping,conflicting,or inconsitent requirements by providing one source for all standards and approvals.
5. Thursday Auguat 11,2016 6:00pm-7:30pm Tarrant County Precinct 2 the Commissioner's Office is holding a Town Hall Meeting at the
