At this time, any person with business before the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board may speak to
the Board. All comments must be directed towards the Chair, rather than individual board members or
staff. All speakers must limit their comments to subject matter relating to the board. No formal action
can be taken on these items.

A. A. Kennedale Youth Association Opening Day April 2, 2016 8am
B. Brickworks Festival April 15th, 16th and 17th at Town Center Park. Volunteers appreciated, if

C. Kid Fish 8aml2pm, Bark in the Park 10am2pm and National Kids at the Park day May 21, 2016
D. The City purchased $1200.00 worth of dirt that was added to the Ball Fields on March 24th.
Electrical work is done on the score board, overhead lights and we have paid TruGreen to come and
treat the grass at the Ball Fields.

VII.ADJOURNMENT
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the City of Kennedale will provide for reasonable
accommodations for persons attending City Council meetings. This building is wheelchair accessible, and parking

Chair David Deaver called the meeting to order at 7:00pm
II. ROLL CALL
Present: Azam Shaikh, Jeff Nevarez, Dylan Black, David Deaver, Michael Chandler, Absent: Alan

III. MINUTES APPROVAL
Consider approval of minutes from February 3, 2016 regular meeting. Motion to: Approve
February 3, 2016 minutes with changes Action: Approve. Moved By: Azam Shaikh, Seconded:
Dylan Black Motion Passed Unanimously
IV.VISITOR/CITIZENS FORUM
A. Kennedale Citizens group to name Sonora park Island ideas for fund raising to pay for sign.
Rachel Roberts Historical Society Member spoke of pricing and their fundraising ideas. The
fundraising will take a little over a year due to fall fundraising being the biggest opportunity to raise
those funds. The City agrees to maintain the sign against vandalism and or up keep of the sign.
B. Kennedale Youth Association Baseball Commissioner Ron Miller and Steve Martinez Assistant
Commissioner will discuss the baseball season and some maintenance Ron Miller will be working
to improve the fields as much as they can out of pocket with fundraising. Steve Martinez would
like lock the fields with giving keys to the Public Works Department The Association would like to
have year round baseball. Opening day is April 2, 2016 8am at the Kennedale Ball Fields.
V. REGULAR ITEMS
A. Consider approval of Girl Scouts Troop#3538 adopting Rodgers Farm Park through the
Adopt A Spot program. Motion to: Approve Girl Scouts Troop #3538 adopting Rodgers
Farm Park through the Adopt A Spot program Action: Approve. Moved By: Azam
Shaikh, Seconded: Jeff Nevarez Motion Passed Unanimously
B. Attendees to Arlington City Hall to discuss Park Master Plan will be David Deaver and
Azam Shaikh
VI. REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. Brickworks Festival is scheduled for April 15th 16th and 17th at Town Center Park,
volunteers are appreciated. If you would like to volunteer please contact Kelly Cooper at
kcooperp_cityofkennedale.com or 817.985.2106. Tomorrow March 3, 2016 will be the
Brickworks Festival Auction
B. Kid Fish is May 21, 2016 8am— 12pm, Bark in the Park will be 10am—2pm, City staff
will be preparing the area for additional parking as Bark In the Park will be moved from
the pavilion to the front end open area of the park instead. National Kids in Park day is
to get kids to go to the park, be active and to get more money budgeted for more outdoor
activities
C. The Sidewalk project is nearing completion they are finishing up at Ray's Pharmacy and
The Three Corner's Store
D. Bloxom Park is a swampy mess right now, however the County is working hard to get
the road stabilized in order to put a road on top, the project has been extended due to
rain.
E. The Vineyards Phase I is sold out, and Phase II construction has started

Kennedale Historical Society and Autism Speaks. We would love to see you and your families
Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. KHS Theater students will be performing historical monologues at five
of the historical sites. You won't want to miss it! Pass the word to family and friends to join us.
