CALLED MEETING KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
MAY lg, 1g84
Mayor Taylor assembled the meeting at 8:10 a. m.
Members present were Mayor Danny Taylor, Mayor Pro-Tem J. D.
Kirkpatrick, Councilmembers Doyle Riley, Jerry Mitchell, Allan
Elrod and Richard Bennett.
Staff present was Mel Justice.
Motion by Doyle Riley, seconded by J. D. Kirkpatrick to go into
closed session at 8:11 a. m. Motion carried with none opposed.
During closed session Council interviewed Mr. Ted R. Rowe for
position of City Administrator.
Motion by Doyle Riley, seconded by J. D. Kirkpatrick to recon-
vene open session at g:12 a. m. Motion carried with none op-
posed.
Motion by Richard Bennett, seconded by Jerry Mitchell to hire
Mr. Ted R. Rowe as City Administrator effective May 21, 1884
at $25,000 per annum plus furnishing a car. Motion carried
with none opposed.
Motion by J. D. Kirkpatrick, seconded by Doyle Riley to recon-
vene closed session at g:24 a. m. Motion carried with none
opposed.
Council interviewed Mr. Don Driver concerning the position of
City Attorney.
Motion by Richard Bennett, seconded by Allan Elrod to recess
closed session and reconvene open session at g:50 a. m. Mo-
tion carried with none opposed.
Motion by Richard Bennett, seconded by Doyle Riley to give
Clyde Marshall 30 days notice of termination of his position
as City Attorney and to hire Don Driver as City Attorney at
$500 per month. Motion carried with none opposed.
Council was briefed on tax information received from TAD and
given an estimate on the amount of taxes which could be ex-
pected to be collected in 1884-85, based on no increase in
taxes by the City. Council will take a more in-depth look
after receipt of final tax figures.
Council was advised bids for t;~~ck replacements were to be re-
ceived by June 6, 1884.

A discussion concerning the Council Chambers being moved to
the Community Center. It was the consensus of the Council
that J. D. Kirkpatrick would study the Community Center set
up and design a Council podium for use at the Center and then
work will be accomplished by a carpenter.
Motion by Allan Elrod, seconded by J. D. Kirkpatrick to ad-
journ. Motion carried with none opposed.
Council adjourned at 10:45 a. m.
