Members present were Mayor Steve Radakovich, Mayor Pro-Tem Doyle
Riley, Councilmembers Allan Elrod, Wayne Winters and J.D. Kirkpatrick.
Richard Bennett was absent.
Staff present were Mel Justice and Tyne Reflogal.
Mayor Radakovich stated the purpose of the hearing was to receive
citizen comments either for or against the proposed 6 month budget.
There were 6 citizens present and no one came forward to speak.
Allan Elrod made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Wayne Winters.
Motion carried with none opposed.
Meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
Council entered into an informal discussion with Sherman Bruce concerning
removing sand and gravel from Mr. Bruce's property on Village Creek
off Bowman Springs Road.
Mayor Radakovich reported that Mr. Bruce had appeared before Planning
and Zoning Board and asked for permission to haul sand. The Planning
and Zoning Board asked for a report from FEMA and the Corp. of Engineers.
It was reported the Corp. of Engineers have no objections to hauling
out dirt.
Mr. Winters was opposed to the creation of a sand and/or gravel pit
inside the City Limits of Kennedale.
It was the consensus of the Council to allow Mr. Bruce to remove
the dirt that has already been dug then to cease operation.
Mr. Bruce was advised to submit plans to the City before any future
projects are started on this land.
Mr. Justice reported he had received two additional estimates for
the Police Building roof one $889.00 to repair the three foot wide
section connecting the two old roofs and one for $1,655.00 to mop
the entire roof. The mop job has a five year guarantee.
It was the consensus of the Council to have the roof repaired for
$1,655.00.
