02/12/1987, Public Hearing Meeting MinutesPage 1462 KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING February 12, 1987 7:15PM Mayor Radakovich called the public hearing to order at 7:20 PM. with roll call showing all members present, except for Mayor Pro Tem Mitchell. The public hearing began with a brief presentation made by Mayor Radakovich about the Community Development Block Grant Program. Mayor Radakovich. presented the two possible projects as ~ recommended by City Staff after reviewing the program. First project is the possible addition to the Community Center which is located at 100 E. Broadway Street. The addition which is proposed would be 2,000 sq. ft. of additional space to the present building. The estimated project cost is $105,000. Second project would be street reconstruction of Shady Lane (400 LF) and Briarwood Lane (1200 LF). This was determined to be beneficial to the area residents. Estimated costs for both streets is $125,000. Present in the audience was 20 citizens, inwhich no one wished to speak either for or against these projects. There was some discussion about the space needed for the addition to the Center. It was explained that there was not a specific design in mind at this time, but plans were in the development stage. With no other discussion, Council adjourned the public hearing on motion by Mr. Kirkpatrick and seconded by Mr. Wright. Motion carried,at 7:30 Pm. APPROVED: STEVE RADAKO ~H ATTEST GALA L .
