10/05/1989, Special Meeting MinutesPage 1653 Kennedale City Council Special Meeting - October 5, 1989 Mayor's Office Mayor Steve Radakovich called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. Members present were Steve Radakovich, Bill Abbott, Pete Kirkpatrick, Jerry Mitchell, Robert Mundy and Mark Wright. ITEM NO. 1 - Review and Award Bid for Motorcyles Project #PD-89-03. The Bids were as follows: Harley Davidson of Dallas $6,500 each 3914 S. Shiloh #200 Garland, Texas 75041 Total $13,000 Harley Davidson of Texas $7,455.30 each 2002 E. Abrams Arlington, Texas 76010 Total $14,910.60 Estimated 21 days delivery Alternate Bid $9,266.30 ea. Total $18,532.60 Chief Geeslin stated that Harley Davidson of Dallas appeared to be the low bid, however, they did not meet the bid specifications in what was required. They did not supply a siren and the delivery date is 24 days longer. The $6,500 bid is for the motorcycle itself with fairing and strobe system, it doesn't include brakes and maintenance agreements and other items. The Harley Davidson of Texas basic bike with fairing is $5,667, four year warranty - $475, siren - $528, strobe - $450, freight - $189, labor - $137.50, state inspection - $8.50, a total bid of $7,455. The Arlington location is alot closer for service purposes. Chief Geeslin recommended the bid be awarded to Harley Davidson of Texas. Chief Geeslin informed Council that they couldn't get the BMW Police Motoryyle because they will not import it. They will build the bike for individuals but not for a municipality due to an accident three years old with a law enforcement officer. Motion was made by Mark Wright, seconded by Pete Kirkpatrick, to award the bid to Harley Davidson of Texas in the amount of $7,455. Motion carried unanimously. Ted Rowe infornled Council that Lone Star Gas Company is going to install the gas line up to the police building free of charge. After the repair of the Trinity #2 well, it is pumping 395 gallons per minute. Page 1654 Special Meeting - October 5, 1989, Cont.
