Jerry Mitchell was absent. ITEM NO. 1 - Change Order for Police Facility. The Council discussed changing the type of roofing material on the new police facility located on Chitwood Street from metal to composition shingles to save approximatley $22,000 dollars. Motion was made by Bill Abbott, seconded by Mark Wright, to change the roof from metal to a composition roof, Timberline or equal and 360 pound/square material. Motion carried unanimously. Chief David Geeslin requested a change order to put in 10 additional electrical outlets, prewire, set up, to be capped off until they are needed in the future. The electrician charges $35.00 per drop or $350.00 total. Chief Geeslin also requested additional funds to move the radio equipment and antenna. The actual move of the equipment is $3,644 labor. The cost of $1,864 for the hardware to increase the tower from the present height to a height of 80 feet. The labor is $4,133, a total of $9,641 which is $2,641 more than what was budgeted. The antenna was projected to be located at the rear of the building and it is actually going to the front of the building on a island which adds 640 feet of cable and a price of $2,300 in addition to the $9,641. The primary reason for the move of the antenna is due to the structure setting on the building line and the antenna would be located between the building and the road right-of-way. The price is approximately $5,000 more for the radio equipment and tower. The tower price has changed three times. An 80' tower total cost is $6,000, a 100' new tower total is $10,458 and an 80' tower upgraded to 100' is $8,207. Chief Geeslin requested a change to budget for an additional $2,641 to make the move to upgrade to the 80' tower and make the move from the present police department Page 1639 Special Meeting - Augut 15, 1989, Cont. to the new location, letting the Council make the decision on where the antenna should be placed.
