01/12/1988, Public Hearing Meeting Minutes1592 Kennedale City Council Public Hearing - January 12, 1989 Community Center Mayor Steve Radakovich called the public hearing to order at 7:40 p.m. Members present were Steve Radakovich, Bill Abbott, Pete Kirkpatrick, Jerry Mitchell, John Mallory and Mark Wright. The purpose of the public hearing was to receive citizens comments regarding projects to be funded under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program to be identified as the fifteenth year (1989). Ted Rowe reviewed CDBG funding that the City has received during the first 14 years of this program which can be itemized as follows: Community Center $ 104,500 Water System $ 849,000 Streets $ 104,600 Park $ 60,000 Sr. Citizen Center $ 165,000 TOTAL $1,283,100 Ted Rowe provided a map of the approved target area for the benefit of low to moderate income neighborhoods and a chart of the eligible projects in priority order. Community Developmient 1989 Project Ranking Schedule Project Points Water and Sewer 25 Street Reconstruction 20 Drainage/Flooding 20 Sr. Citizens/Community Centers 15 House Repairs 15 Parks 5 The following possible projects were discussed; 1) Connecting residences on 2" water lines to larger 6" or 8" water lines located nearby. 2) Replacing 2" water lines on Paula Lane and Timberline Drive with 6" lines. 3) Clearing out right-of-way along Dick Price Road and railroad tracks to prevent flooding. 4) Upgrading the sewer system. (Running a mini camera through the sewer lines to detect problems was suggested.) Questionnaires for the CDBG citizen participation were furnished to the public. 1593 Public Hearing - January 12, 1989, Cont. Ken Pearce, Judy Keeton, Vicki Thompson and David Geeslin were present, but did not comment on the CDBG program.
