04/12/1990, Public Hearing Meeting MinutesPage 1707 KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL PUBLIC HEARING - APRIL 12, 1990 COMMUNITY CENTER - 7:30 PM Mayor Radakovich called the meeting to order at 7:45 PM. Members present were Steve Radakovich, Bill Abbott, Robert Mundy, Pete Kirkpatrick and Mark Wright. Jerry Mitchell was absent. ITEM N0. 1 - Review Sammons Cable Service performance under the franchise, the development of new services, the utilization of new technologies and any federal or state ruling relevant to the franchise. Mr. Tom Scoulsby, General Manager of Sammons Communication in Fort Worth addressed council and answered questions concerning the franchise agreement with the City of Kennedale. No one present signed up to speak. Mr. Scoulsby had the following responses to the letter dated March 28, 1990 from Mr. Ted Rowe. The quality of picture and color will continue to improve. Most service calls were being answered within a 24 to 48 hour response time. The City of Kennedale was receiving 3% of gross revenues in line with other cities in the area with Fort Worth receiving 5%. No [. Mr. Scoulsby was unaware of anyone within the city limits at the time of the original contract that wanted service but did not have any. A list of names was submitted for Mr. Scoulsby to contact. Kennedale has maintained an average of 33% of the homes with service which is about average in all cities. It was confirmed that council had no control over fees. Service calls to any one address was only recorded one time for each problem no matter how often a call was placed. Mr. Scoulsby stated that he had returned all calls that he was aware of from Councilman Mark Wright and suggested that he call at the administration office (737-4731) instead of customer service. Mr. Scoulsby offered to make an appointment with Mr. Wright to view the television reception at Wright's home.
