DROUGHT/ EMERGENCY WATER PLAN
Outside watering is strictly prohibited for the next 48
hours.
Outside watering may resume Wednesday August 18th in accordance with the
restrictions listed below.
The City of Kennedale requests your cooperation in conserving water. Due to the
extreme heat, continued drought and several major water breaks, the water system
has been depleted to record low levels. Your efforts in following the water restriction
guidelines will allow the system to replenish itself.
If you have an automatic sprinkler system, please re- program it for the days and
times specific to your appropriate watering schedule.
Landscape watering with hose attached sprinklers or automatic irrigation systems is
limited to a twice per week schedule. This includes parks, and sports fields. Watering
with a hand -held hose, soaker hose, or drip irrigation is allowed at any time.
Residential addresses that end in an even number, (0, 2, 4, 6, or 8) may water on
Wednesdays and Saturdays. Those ending with an odd number, (1, 3, 5, 7 or 9) may
water on Thursdays and Sundays.
All non - residential sites may water on Tuesdays and Fridays. This includes apartment
complexes, common areas maintained by homeowner or neighborhood associations,
businesses, industries, parks, medians, etc.
Outdoor watering is strictly prohibited during the hours of 10:00am to 6:00pm year
round, except that Watering with a hand -held hose, soaker hose, or drip irrigation is
allowed at any time.
Voluntary compliance is essential to the success of this program. Non- compliance
may necessitate the need for enforcement actions.
Fire, Police and Public Works Staff will be working throughout the city to insure
adherence to this plan.
We thank you in advance for your continued conservation efforts. You will be advised
of any changes in the plan as conditions dictate.
