KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
PUBLIC HEARING - JANUARY 11, 1990
COMMUNITY CENTER
Mayor Steve Radakovich called the public hearing to order at
7 : 31 PM.
Members present were Steve Radakovich, Bill Abbott, Pete
Kirkpatrick, Robert Mundy, and Mark Wright. Jerry Mitchell was
absent.
The Kennedale area Girl Scouts of America performed a flag
ceremony followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Radakovich
presented the Girl Scouts with a certificate of appreciation.
Public Hearing No. 1 - Community Development Block Grant
Projects for 1990 (16th Year).
Survey sheets were passed out to those present and will be
tabulated prior to the next meeting.
Ted Rowe explained that the grant program is limited to water,
sewer, street or flood/drainage improvements, senior
citizen/community centers, house repairs and parks within the
approved target area for the benefit of low to moderate income
neighborhoods. Mr. Rowe reviewed the previous Kennedale CDBG
projects. Possible projects are additional parking by the Senior

Citizen Center, reconstruction of Harrison Drive and Butterfly
Lane.
Mayor Radakovich inquired about the T.V. camera study to check
the sewer for infiltration into the system. Ted Rowe stated that
the city had to perform the smoke testing and then try to fund
the project with the grant.
Action on the CDBG will be on the February agenda and will be
turned in on February 12, 1990.
Ken Pearce stated that he would like to have trees trimmed back.
There being no further business, motion was made by Bill Abbott,
seconded by Robert Mundy to adjourn the public hearing at 7:49
PM. Motion passed unanimously.
