Fobert Mundy moved to re-elect Pete Kirkpatrick. as Mayor
Pro-Teem. second by Tom Boone and carried unanimously.

Hightill, Water Department Supervisor stated that the water line

months. Terry recommended awarding three contracts zox- various

ITEM„ NO._____6 - Consideration of Emergency Purchase of a
~~ ~_~~- _ Computer System for the Police Department.
David Geeslin explained that the record system computer i~ down
and he was trying to stretch it into the next budget year. It
cannot be used because it is overloaded. The P.p has returned to
a manual system for reports. A report takes approximately four
hours to complete. 't'he upgrade software is not written for a 186
chip computer. it's written for a 386 or better. The system
costs 511, 89~ and 53, 1@1 for training. '['he projected life of the
computer is about la years. The system is a 48b hard disk, 8
mega-bite ram, five terminals. and sixteen ports.
Motion by Robert Mundy, second by Tom Boone, to authorize the
emergency purchase of the computer system, not to exceed 525,@@@
including -the training. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Pete Kirkpatrick, second by Tom Boone t.o recess at 7:16

Council reconvened at 9:3@ PM.
