PUBLIC HEARING Hv. 1 - CDBG Program. 17th Year, 1991
Ted Rowe explained that the CUBG program was to upgrade low to
moderate income neighborhoods in designated areas of the City.
Eligible projects are for water, sewer, streets,
flooding/drainage, Senior Citizen/Community Centers, parks and
home repairs. i~'ire trucks will not qualify because all of the
city is not within the target area.
The paving of Harrison Drive had been considered for the project,

own funds to complete the project. An alternative to that
project is to replace the 2" water line with a 6" line and add '?
fire hydrants on Briarwood Road. which serves 23 people. Also,
replace the 4" water line with a 8" line on Averett Road and add
:3 fire hydrants. This would provide adequate fire protection and
water to that area.
