KENNEDALE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
REGULAR MEETING — JANUARY 18, 2000
100 E. BROADWAY ST. — COMMUNITY CENTER
President Vaughn called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Members present: Nita Vaughn, Robert Mundy, Ron Kovach, John Berry, Rob Morris, and
Margaret Eichelberger.
Members absent: Wayne Winters
Staff present: Ted Rowe, Kathy Turner, and Lynette Whidden.
ITEM NO. 1— Consideration of minutes — November 4, 1999 — Public Hearing
November 4, 1999 — Special Meeting
November 16, 1999 — Regular Meeting
Robert Mundy moved to approve the above minutes as they were submitted, seconded by Ron
Kovach. Motion carried.
ITEM NO. 2 — Consideration of Financial Reports.
Robert Mundy moved to approve the financial reports as they were submitted, seconded by John
Berry. Motion carried.
ITEM NO. 3 — Consideration of application for Commercial Revitalization Grant Program.
Robert Mundy moved to grant an Economic Grant to Hogan Hardwood Laminated, Inc., at 705
West Mansfield Highway, for exterior building improvements in the amount of 50 percent (50 %)
of $13,467.98 ($6,733.99) seconded by Rob Morris. Nita Vaughn, Robert Mundy, Rob Morris,
and Margaret Eichelberger voted aye, with Ron Kovach and John Berry voting nay. Motion
carried.
John Berry moved to grant an Economic Grant to Hogan Hardwood Laminated, Inc., at 705 W.
Mansfield Highway for interior renovation of an approximate amount of $245,078.00 on a 6 to 1
ratio up to a maximum of $30,000.00, seconded by Ron Kovach. Motion carried.
ITEM NO. 4 — Consideration of Advertisement for Commercial Revitalization Grant Program.
Board members discussed and agreed upon releasing a Press Release incorporating an Economic
Development Grant ad with picture to include presentation of check to Hogan Hardwood in the
Fort Worth Star Telegram's Business Press, placing grant application on web site and cable
channel, and presenting flyers to the businesses of Kennedale.

ITEM NO. 5 — General discussion.
Members were briefed on the Community Development Bock Grant funding for the sewer line on
Danny Drive, revisions of a new sexually oriented business ordinance and zoning ordinance to
provide coverage of sexually oriented businesses that are annexed into the city limits.
Meeting adjourned at 8: 10 p.m.
