MINUTES OF
PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING
15 JUNE 2000
COMMUNITY CENTER
Chairman Miller called the meeting to order at 7:16 P.M.
Commission Members Present: Jerry Miller, Ray Cowan, and Jody Risinger. Bryan Lankhorst, Brian
Johnson, and Tiffany Spencer were not in attendance.
City Staff Present: Ted Rowe, City Manager; Mort Wetterling, Code Enforcement/Planning Department;
Chrissy Knapp, Permit Clerk
ITEM NO.1 — Approval of the minutes of the Public Hearing and regularly scheduled meeting of the
Planning and Zoning Commission, dated 18 May 2000.
Ray Cowan made a motion to approve the minutes as drafted. Jody Risinger seconded the motion and all
Commission Members voted in favor.
ITEM NO. 2 — Commission will resume discussion relative to the rezoning of recently annexed territory
and all current "PD" zoned areas.
Commission Members resumed discussion of the re- zoning of recently annexed territory and all current
"PD" zoned areas. All Members were in agreement with Staff recommendations concerning which zoning
classifications would be appropriate in specific areas. Commission Members then requested that a
"workshop" be held with the City Council to discuss re- zoning recommendations before holding the
required Public Hearings.
II EM NO. 3 — Staff Comments: In addition to matters specifically listed below, staff comments may
include updates on ongoing or proposed projects related to their department and may address posted agenda
items.
• Code Enforcement/Planning Department staff report
Mort Wetterling briefed Commission Members on the events of last month's City Council meeting and also
gave status of Business 287 widening. He also advised that the Commission schedule a Workshop to
discuss the budget recommendations that are to go before the City Council. Commission Members then
agreed to schedule a Workshop for Tuesday, 20 June 2000, 6:30 P.M. in the Police Department Conference
Room. Ted Rowe also addressed the Commission concerning the budget recommendations that are to go
before the City Council in the near future.
ADJOURN
With no further questions or comments, Ray Cowan made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Jody Risinger
seconded the motion and all Members voted in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
