BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SPECIAL MEETING - DECEMBER 17, 1997
401 CHITWOOD - TRAINING ROOM
6:30 PM
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.
Members present: John Berry, Tom Boone, Michael Box, Robert Duval, Ron
Kovach, Gregory Sellers and Nita Vaughn.
Members absent: None
Staff present: Ted Rowe, Kathy Turner and Margaret Eichelberger.
ITEM NO. 1 - Briefing by City Attorney, Wayne K. Olson.
Mr. Rowe advised members that Mr. Olson would not be able to attend the
meeting and would reschedule his presentation for the next meeting.
Therefore, Mr. Rowe gave a brief overview regarding the 4B Sales Tax and
discussed the different projects that could be funded. In addition, Ms.
Margaret Eichelberger prepared a chart reflecting what other cities have
funded through the 4B sales tax.
ITEM NO. 2 - Briefing by City Financial Advisor, Boyd London.
Mr. London, representing First Southwest Company presented members with
a handout regarding Economic Development Tools for Texas Cities which
addressed different financing options. Members reviewed the information
and were given the opportunity to ask questions.
ITEM NO. 3 - General Discussion.
The board scheduled another training session for the 15th of January,
1997 to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the police department training room
facility.
There being no further discussion, the session was adjourned at 10:05
p.m.
