10.22.1992 PZ MinutesPage 400 MINUTES OF PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION OCTOBER 22, 1992 COMMUNITY CENTER Vice Chairperson Roger Hurlbut called the meeting to order at 7:40 PM. Members present were Bill Cromer, Glynn Cavasos, and Roger Hurlbut. Members absent were Janna Brimer, Charles Gray and Cliff Hallmark. Staff present were Ted Rowe and Kathy Turner. Also present were Ralph Shelton representing Bowerman Enterprises, Inc., David Lewis and Kirk Franklin with GSA, Inc., and Charles Knotts. ITEM NO. 1 - Consideration of Preliminary Plat Update - Steeplechase. Mr. Cromer made a motion to accept the Preliminary Plat Update of Steeplechase contingent upon the correction of the city limit line due west of Enon Coker Property by Sublett Road, east of the subdivision, and to forward a recommendation to City Council for final approval. Second by Glynn Cavasos. Motion carried. *Note: There is access to Keeneland Road west cul -de -sac through the city's ETJ and Glaze Lane from Collett Sublett Road. ITEM NO. 2 - Briefing by GSA, Inc. regarding Re -Write of Zoning Ordinances. Mr. David Lewis presented a tentative schedule for work shops to be held every two weeks in order to meet the contract deadline. He stated P &Z could review this and get back with him to see how it would work out. Mr. Lewis also requested the meetings be in a work shop format instead of a regular meeting because they can get lengthy and he would like to start earlier to allow more time for discussion. Mr, Kirk Franklin briefed P &Z on the status of the questionnaires that were sent out and stated that out of 50 surveys mailed out, he had received approximately 35 of them. Mr. Franklin briefly summarized the results of the survey. Mr. Lewis reviewed Zoning Districts Generally which was handed out to P &Z in their October 15, 1992 meeting. P &Z discussed Section D. Schedule of District Regulations Adopted, along with each residential, duplex, multiple family, manufactured home district, and Schedule of Uses and Off - Street Parking Requirements in detail. Mr. Lewis also stated that he recommends we have two commercial districts, one industrial district, a planned development district and a floodplain district. P &Z will discuss commercial, industrial, planned development and floodplain districts at the November 5th workshop. Page 401 No action was taken on this item.
