02.22.1980 AB MinutesMEETING OF THE KENNEDALE AMBULANCE BOARD February 22, 1980 The Kennedale Ambulance Board convened at 12:00 noon, February 22, 1980, in the Community Center for a scheduled meeting. Present at the meeting were Dr. William Harris, Chairman, George Lyon, Vice Chairman, Board member. James Smith, Council member Mayor Steve Radakovich and Staff member Mel Justice. The minutes of the February 8, 1980 meeting were accepted as presented, Mayor Fadakovich reported that Anadite Corporation had authorized the sum of $200.00 per month to be added to their water bill for ambulance membership for a two month period and that Anadite would contact the City further on additional monies. A letter was read by Steve Radakovich concerning the conduct of Rick Cain on an ambulance call at Anadite. The Chairman asked James Smith what action he had taken on this matter and Mr. Smith made a report as to action he deemed desirable. The board was in agre- ement with Mr. Smith's action of a 6 months suspension from doing ambulance service duties for Mr. Cain. James Smith reported that Glen Long had informed him the Chamber of Commerce of Kennedale will purchase caps for the board and ambulance volunteers. Mel Justice reported the ambulance patches had been ordered and should be delivered in approximately three weeks. George Lyon reported he had made necessary arrangements for a radio and needed a City purchase order. Mr. Justice stated he would issue a purchase order immediately. James Smith reported the need for neck braces or collars in the ambulance and Dr. Harris stated he felt he had one which could be used and would donate it for use in the ambulance. The board discussed the need for a policy outlining who was in charge of patient care in the ambulance. The con- sensus of the board was that any medically professional qualified person was to be in charge with the most highly qualified, i.e, Doctor, Registered Nurse, Licensed Voca- tional Nurse, and then lesser qualified, person would be in charge of the patient. A report on additional medical supplies purchased for the ambulance was given by Mel Justice. The Chairman called the next meeting of the board at 12 :00 noon at the Community Center on March 14, 1980. The board adjourned at 1:30 P.M.
