10.02.1979 PRB MinutesPage 1$ REGULAR MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE PARK BOARD October 2, 1979 The Kennedale Park Board convened at 7:35 P.M., October 2, 1979 in the City Hall in regular session. Present at the meeting were Bob Patterson, President, Frankie Luttrell, Secretary and Irene McDavid, Member. Mel Justice was staff member in attendance. The minutes of the July 2, 1979 Board meeting were accepted as presented with no changes. The Board Considered a request from Senior Citizens, Inc. to install two signs at the Community Center id- entifying the Center as a meeting place for senior citizens. Motion was made by Frankie Luttrell, seconded by Irene McDavid, that the Board recommend approval of this request to City Council, subject to the sign to be installed on the facade of the building being moved when the City installs a sign on the building with the City name designation. Motion unanimously approved. Frankie Luttrell brought to the Board's attention the fact that Bill Bishop and Stephen Love have missed three consecutive meetings and City Ordinance 77 -22 stipulates this occurence results in removal from the Board. It was the unanimous consesus of the Board that the President request the City Council to replace these two members on the Board. Mrs. McDavid inquired as to the status of the picnic tables from Dave Bloxom and Mel Justice reported he had spoke to Mr. Bloxom on October 2, 1979 and Mr. Bloxom indicated he would take necessary action to get the tables to the park as soon as possible. The use of the dedicated but unused road North of the baseball fields for parking purposes was again discussed and the staff was asked to get with the City Attorney again to determine whether the City might use this site for parking and what legal action would be necessary for the closing of this dedication and converting this land to parking use. The date for dedication of the Center was discussed and the Board indicated it would be agreeable to December 1, 1979 date, in conjunction with a Martin Frost town hall meeting, so long as the time was after 2:00 P.M. on sub- ject date. The staff as requested to contact Martin Frost's office to determine if this time would coincide with their plans. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 9:05 P.M.
