Planning and Zoning Commission
January 21, 1988
Bill Cromer called the public hearing to order at 7:15 p.m.
Members present were Glynn Cavasos, Pat Turner, Bill Cromer, John Gregory,
Joe Moniz and Tom Boone. Sue Hair and Mike McCarty were absent.
Staff in attendance were Ted Rowe and Linda Jones.
I. The purpose of the public hearing was to hear citizens comments on
a zoning change request from "A" Single Family District to "G"
Industrial District, on Tract 2B, R.C. Richey Survey, Abstract 1327,
located at 603 South New Hope Road, containing approximately 3 acres
of land.
Ms. Donna Morris, property owner requesting the zoning change, ex-
plained that the property to the north and east are presently
zoned "G" Industrial and she plans to relocate her sign manu-
facturing and sign supply companies to Kennedale. She presented
pictures of the baked enamel buildings she plans to erect on
the site.
No other persons spoke for or against the zoning change request.
Motion was made by Pat Turner, seconded by Glynn Cavasos, to adjourn
the public hearing. Motion carried unanimously.
The public hearing adjourned at 7:20 p.m.

Regular Meeting Planning and Zoning Commission
January 21, 1988
Bill Cromer called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Members present were Glynn Cavasos, Pat Turner, Bill Cromer, John Gregory,
Joe Moniz, Sue Hair, Tom Boone and Mike McCarty.
Staff in attendance were Ted Rowe and Linda Jones.
Minutes dated November 19, 1987 were approved as submitted.
I. Ms. Donna Morris requested rezoning on Tract 2B, R.C. Richey Survey,
Abstract 1327, containing approximately 3 acres of land, from
"A" Single Family District to "G" Industrial District, located at
603 South New Hope Road.
Motion was made by Pat Turner, seconded by Glynn Cavasos, to approve
the rezoning as presented and forward a recommendation to Council
for final action. Motion carried, with Mike McCarty abstaining.
II. Ted Rowe informed the Commission that the Mayor had declared a
moritorium for six months on the location of mobile homes, manu-
factured housing, and /or modular homes within the city limits of
Kennedale except in an authorized mobile home park.
The Commission briefly discussed developing rules and regulations
for that type housing and requested Mike McCarty to supply suggestions
at a future meeting.
Pat Turner requested the following items to be placed on next months
agenda:
(1) Rezoning of the David Strickland Survey tabled
at a meeting in 1987
(2) Regulations for mobile, modular and manufactured
housing
(3) Restrictions on parking butane trucks on the streets
and public property
There being no further business, motion was made by Glynn Cavasos,
seconded by Sue Hair, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried with-
out opposition.
Meeting adjourned at 8:13 p.m.
