Minutes of
Public Hearing
January 15, 1987
Bill Cromer called the meeting to order at 7:20 p.m.
Members present were Pat Turner, Bill Cromer, Mike McCarty, Joe Moniz, and
John Gregory. Glynn Cavasos was absent.
Staff in attendance were Danny Thomas and Linda Jones. Ted Rowe was absent.
I. Ms. Signe Brimer requested a replat of Blocks 73, 74, 75, 80, 81, 82,
83, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95 and a portion of Blocks 58 and 59, Original
Town of Kennedale to Block 1, Oak Creek Addition and the closings of
the following streets:
1) 6th Street from the existing Averett Road east to the
H &TC Railroad right -of -way.
2) Mansfield Avenue from the existing Village Street east
to the H &TC Railroad right -of -way.
3) 7th Street from the existing Village Street east to
Block 91.
4) Kennedy Street from the existing Averett Road south
to 8th Street.
,Hudson Street from the said H &TC Railroad right -of -way
south to 8th Street.
6) Main Street from the said H &TC Railroad right -of -way
south to 8th Street.
7) Caylebaite Street from the said H &TC Railroad right -of -way
south to 8th Street.
8) Chitwood Street from the said H &TC Railroad right -of -way
south to 8th Street.
There were no property owners who spoke for or against the replat or street
closings.
Motion was made by Pat Turner, seconded by John Gregory, to adjourn the
public hearing. Motion carried with none opposed.
Meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.

January 15, 1987
Bill Cromer called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Members present were Pat Turner, Bill Cromer, Mike McCarty, Joe Moniz, and
John Gregory. Glynn Cavasos was absent.
Staff in attendance were Danny Thomas and Linda Jones. Ted Rowe was absent.
Minutes dated December 15, 1986 were approved as submitted.
I. Ms. Signe Brimer requested a replat of Blocks 73, 74, 75, 80, 81, 82
83, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95 and a portion of Blocks 58 and 59, Original
Town of Kennedale to Block 1, Oak Creek Addition and the closings of
the following streets:
1) 6th Street from the existing Averett Road east to the
H &TC Railroad right -of -way.
2) Mansfield Avenue from the existing Village Street east
to the H &TC Railroad right -of -way.
3) 7th Street from the existing Village Street east to
Block 91.
4) Kennedy Street from the existing Averett Road south

Motion was made by John Gregory, seconded by Joe Moniz, to accept the
street closings and the plat of Oak Creek Addition with the stipulation
that a 72' utility easement to be added to the west property line along
Village Street, south property line along 8th Street and the east
property line along Chitwood Street to the H &TC Railroad. Motion
carried without opposition.
II. Mr. Doug Shelfer representing Dallas Harris requested approval of final
plat of Lot 1, Block 1, Dunlap Subdivision. Mr. Shelfer informed the
Commission that his plans to build a convenience store with gas sales
on the property at a later date.
Motion was made by Pat Turner, seconded by John Gregory, to accept the
plat of the Dunlap Subdivision. Motion carried.

III. Mr. Rex Pennington requested a building permit to erect a 8'X24'
temporary office building at 916 East Mansfield Highway. Mr.
Pennington plans to open a pipe and steel yard with outside
storage. Mr. Pennington stated that he was going to fence the
property with a chainlink fence, pave the drive and parking with
crushed stone and the building would be portable on a skid type
foundation.
Motion was made by John Gregory, seconded by Mike McCarty, to
approve the building permit with the stipulation that the
structure set on a permanent foundation. Motion carried.
IV. Mr. Ray Crumby, representing Childres Oil Company, requested a
building permit and permission to raise and extend a new canopy
an additional three foot into the front yard requirement bringing
it to the property line at 100 East Mansfield Highway. Mr.
Crumby plans to renovate the existing Phillips 66 Station and
changing it to a convenience store with gasoline sales. The
existing canopy is 12' in heighth and he wishes to raise it to
approximately 17'. Texas Electric Service Company instructed
Mr. Crumby to notify them 48 hours prior to installing the
canopy because of the potential hazard of the high voltage
overhead line.
Motion was made by Pat Turner, seconded by John Gregory, to
approve the building permit and the new canopy. Pat Turner
and John Gregory voted for the motion, Mike McCarty and Joe
Moniz voted against. Bill Cromer voted for the motion.
Motion carried.
There being no further business, motion was made by Joe Moniz,
seconded by Mike McCarty, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
