At this time, any person with business before the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board may speak to
the Board. All comments must be directed towards the Chair, rather than individual board members or
staff. All speakers must limit their comments to subject matter relating to the board. No formal action can
be taken on these items.

VII. ADJOURNMENT
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the City of Kennedale will provide for reasonable
accommodations for persons attending City Council meetings. This building is wheelchair accessible, and

Co-Chair Michael Chandler called the meeting to order at 7:00pm
II. ROLL CALL
Present: Stephen Brim, Jill Turner, Michael Chandler, Donna Gerron, Alan Pederson Absent: David

A.Consider approval of minutes from February 5, 2014 regular meeting.

IV. VISITOR/CITIZENS FORUM
V. REGULAR ITEMS
A.Discuss and consider picking a date for Kidfish to be announced pending the results of the
Texas Parks and Wildlife catfish study. We will try and keep the same date as Bark In the
Park as in years past which is May 17, 2014.
B.Discuss and consider Art in the Park dates where Park Board members volunteers can and
want to help. Kelly Cooper advised any help will be welcome for any volunteer hours on
Friday April 4, 2014 9:00am – 3:00pm, this is where the most help is needed during the set-
up of Art In the Park.
VI. REPORTS/ANNOUNCEMENTS
Reports from City Staff:
Received revised & completed flyer from KKB for Adpot-A-Spot for informational purposes
for KKB to go ahead and move forward with this project.
Link Street will start sometime in early April.
Beacon Hill Phase II is nearing the end of construction, final inspection will be in the next
couple of weeks
Water/Wastewater management will be submitted to council in the next couple of months

24 New Exhibitors
Five food booths (most notable will be Wild Bill’s Old Fashioned Soda Shop)
New This Year:
Historical Area including a Blacksmith, Dried Flower pressing, Soaps & Lotions,
Historical Society, Alumni Association and Quilters
Kid’s Zone: Sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance will provide activities for
children Friday and Saturday. Sunday Activities will be provided by the Youth
Advisory Council
Mechanical Bull
Activities for Kids:
Bounce Houses, Puppets, barrel train ride for kids, face painting, paint gun, glow in the
dark toys, and paint the train.

Scholarships: This year we received the most student participation (9 students
applying for a scholarship).
Volunteers are the greatest need, especially Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
anyone who can assist and bring a friend would be greatly appreciated!
