MINUTES OF
KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING - DECEMBER 9, 1993
100 E. BROADWAY ST. - COMMUNITY CENTER
7:30 PM.
Mayor Abbott called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
Members present were Mayor Abbott, Mark Wright, Robert Mundy, Pete
Kirkpatrick, Tom Boone and Ron Kovach.
Staff present were Ted Rowe, Michael Box, Joey Highfill, Kathy Turner,
David Geeslin and Wayne Olson, City Attorney.
ITEM NO. 1 - Consent Agenda
ITEM NO. 4 - Approval of Final Plat - Lot 1, Block 1, Burks Addition.
ITEM NO. 5 - Approval of Resolution No. 19 Uncollectable Ambulance
Write-Offs FY 1991/1992.
ITEM NO. 6 - Approval of Resolution No. 20 Uncollectable Water/Sewer
Write-Offs FY 1991/1992.
ITEM NO. 7 - Approval of Minutes:
Special Meeting - November 3, 1993
Public Hearings - November 15, 1993
Regular Meeting - November 15, 1993
Public Hearings - November 18, 1993
Councilman Mundy moved to approve items 4 through 7 on the consent
agenda. Second by Councilman Kovach and motion carried with no
opposition.
ITEM NO. 2 - Approval of Annexation requested by FWT, Inc.
Councilman Wright moved to approve Ordinance No. 44 with exhibits as
indicated including the revised service plan to annex tracts 31D and
31J, located in the David Strickland Survey. Second by Councilman
Kirkpatrick. Motion carried unanimously.
ITEM NO. 3 - Approval of Annexation requested by a majority of the
qualified voters contiguous to Swiney Hiett Road.
Motion by Councilman Wright, seconded by Councilman Mundy to approve
Ordinance No. 45 with exhibits as indicated including the revised
service plan to annex property contiguous to Swiney Hiett Road. Motion
carried without opposition.

ITEM NO. 8 - Approval to Purchase Vehicles for Police, Fire and
Development/Enforcement Departments.
Councilman Kovach moved to approve the following vehicle purchases,
seconded by Councilman Boone. Motion carried unanimously.
Fire Department
Low Bid $15,288 for a 3/4 ton passenger van from Classic
Chevrolet.
Development & Enforcement
Low Bid $10,297 each for three 1/2 ton pickups from Classic
Chevrolet for a total of $30,891.
Police Department
$13,929 each for two Ford LTDs from Village Ford for a total of
$27,858.
ITEM NO. 9 - General Discussion.
There being no further discussion Mayor Abbott recessed for five minutes
before going into executive session at 7:40 p.m.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
ITEM NO. 10 - Pending or Contemplated Litigation - Slaughter House.
To discuss advice about pending or contemplated litigation
a settlement offer, or on a matter in which the duty of an
attorney requires it, Section 551.071, Texas Government
Code.
RECONVENE INTO OPEN SESSION
Mayor Abbott reconvened into open session at 8:55 p.m.
ITEM NO. 11 - Action on Executive Session if Necessary.
No action was taken on this item.
There being no further discussion Mayor Abbott adjourned the meeting at
8:55 p.m.
