AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND A XING
TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS
TO THE CITY _ OF KE. DALE, TEXAS;
PROVIDING. THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BE
MADE A PART OF SAID CITY AND THAT
THE 0' RS AND BITANTS THEREOF
SHALL BE ENTITLED TO . ALL THE
PRIVILEGES OF OTHER PROPERTY 0 RS
AND CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND SHALL
BE_BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES
NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREAFTER
ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR,
AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL
BO 'ARIES OF SAID CITY AS HERETOFORE
ADOPTED, AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
REAS, pursuant to provisions of Article 974-g,
Vernon's Texas Revised Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended,
Agnes 0. Oldham and husband, R.T. Oldham, Sr., and H.C. Evans,
being all the owners of real property hereinafter described,
have made application as by law provided to the Mayor and
City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, requesting
annexation to said City of the area situated in the County
of Tarrant, State of Texas, described as follows, to -wit:
Being a part of the R.C. Richey Survey,
Abstract No. 1327, in Tarrant County,
Texas, and described by metes and
bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point 384.5 feet south
88 deg. 15 min. west of the southwest
corner of the E.C. Cannon Survey,
Abstract No. 378, said point being
the southeast corner of a tract of
land conveyed by Agnes 0. Oldham,
et vir to H.C. Evans by deed dated
April 21st, 1961, recorded in Volume
3552, page 114, Deed Records of
Tarrant County, Texas;
THENCEf south 88 deg. 15 min. west
384.5 t. with the south line of
said Evans Tract to the southwest
corner of said tract in the east
right-of-way line of the Kennedale-
New Hope Road (County Road No. 2025);
THENCE west crossing said road to a_
point in the west right-of-way line
of said Kennedale-New Hope Road
(County Road No. 2025);
THENCE northerly with.the west right-
of-way line Of said Kennedale-New
Hope Road (County Road No. 2025)
to its point of intersection with
the present southerly corporate
limit line of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, in the north line of said
R.C. Richey Survey, Abstract No.
1327;

being the present corporate limit
line of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, crossing said road to a
point in the east right-of-way
line of said Kennedale-New Hope
Road (County Road No. 2025);
THENCE southerly with the east
right-of-way line of said Kennedale-
New Hope Road (County Road_ No. 2025)
199 varas, more or less, to the southwest
corner of a tract of land conveyed to
J.T. Hibbett by deed recorded in
Volume 1960, page 565, Deed Records
of Tarrant County, Texas, continuing
southerly with said. east right-of-
way line an additional 501.35 feet,
more or less, to the southwest corner
of a tract of land conveyed by Agnes 0.
Oldham, et vir., to Jack Elliott, et ux.,
by deed dated April 27th, 1959, recorded
in Volume 3322, page 312, Deed Records of
Tarrant County, Texas; -
THENCE easterly with the south line of
said Elliott Tract 384.5 feet to a point
for corner;
THENCE south 0 deg. 45 min. east on a
line parallel to and 384.5 feet east of
the east right-of-way line of said Kennedale-
New Hope Road (County Road No. 2025) to the
place of beginning.
(It is the intention to herein describe for
annexation the west 384.5 feet of the property
owned by Agnes 0. Oldham and H.C. Evans on the
east side of said Kennedale-New Hope Road in
the said R.C. Richey Survey, Abstract No. 1327,
together with that portion of said Kennedale-
New Hope Road abutting such property on the
west and intervening between such abutting
portion of the road and the present south
corporate limit line of the City of
Kennedale, Texas.)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, as provided by law, at a regular meeting on this the
day of June, 1961, (which is more than five and less than
thirty days since the filing of said petition with the City),
duly and legally considered the said petition, hearing the
arguments for and against such annexation, and it appearing
to the City Council that all statutory requirements in connec-
tion with said application and petition have been fulfilled
and that all of said area, on which less than three qualified
voters reside, is adjacent and contiguous to the present exist-
ing boundaries and limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and
is not more than one-half mile in width, all of which the
Council so finds; now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the property hereinabove described
lying adjacent and contiguous to thepresent existing boundaries
and limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be, and the same
is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and
.de an integral part of the said City of Kennedale, Texas.
Section 2. That the owners and inhabitants of the
area herein annexed, be, and they are hereby declared dntitled
to all the rights and privileges of other property owners and
citizens of the said ,City of Kennedale, Texas, and shall
henceforth be bound by all the acts and ordinances of said City
of Kennedale which are now in force and effect, and which .:y
be hereafter adopted.
Section 3. That the official map and boundaries of
the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended,
be corrected and amended, so as to include the above described
area and territory as a part of the.City of Kennedale, Texas.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall become effective
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor Pro-Tempore,
duly attested by the City Secretary.

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
We, the undersigned, being all of the owners of
the hereinafter described land and territory lying conti-
guous and adjacent to the existing corporate limits of the
City of Kennedale, Texas, hereby petition the Mayor and
City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, to institute
all proceedings and to adopt all ordinances and do all
other things necessary to annex said hereinafter described
land and territory and make the same a part of the City
of Kennedale, Texas, said land and territory being more
particularly described as follows, to -wit:

above described property is contiguous and adjacent to
the present city limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
is less than one-half mile in width, is not now a part
of any other municipal corporation, and that less than
three (3) qualified voters reside on said land and
territory.
