KENNEDALE ORDINANCE NO. 62-4
AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING
TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO
THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS; PROVIDING
THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BE.MADE A PART OF
SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND INHABI-
TANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL TEE
PRIVILEGES OF OTHER PROPERTY OWNERS AND
CITIZENS OF SAID. CITY, AND SHALL BE BOUND
BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT
AND. TO BE. HEREAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PRO—
VIDING FOR, AMENDING AND.CORREOTING THE
OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY AS
HERETOFORE ADOPTED, AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Article
974-g, Texas Revised Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended,
Trinity Valley Seminary, being the sole owner of the
hereinafter described real property, acting through its
duly authorized officers, has made application as by
law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City
of Kennedale, Texas, requesting annexation to said City
of the area situated in the County of Tarrant, State of
Texas, described as follows, to -wit:
BEING a part of the E. C. Cannon Survey, Abstract
No. 378, in Tarrant County, Texas, and described by
metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING in the present southerly corporate limit line
of the City of Kennedale, Texas at the point of inter-
section of the north line of said E.C. Cannon Survey,
being also the south line of the J.B. Renfro Survey,
Abstract No. 1260, and the east right of way line of
U.S. Highway No. 287;
THENCE southeasterly with the east right of way line
of said U. S. Highway No. 287 to the southwest corner of
a tract deeded to J.S. Compton by warranty deed recorded
in Vol. 3129, page 406, Tarrant County Deed Records, and
the northwest corner of a tract deeded to Trinity Valley
Seminary by warranty deed recorded in Vol. 3596, Page
534, Tarrant County Deed Records, said point being the
northwest corner of petitioner's property in the nort4-
east right of way of the Fort Worth -Mansfield Road
(U.S. Highway No. 287);
THENCE north 47 deg. 52 min. east 310.4 feet to the most
northerly corner of said Seminary Tract in the north line
of the E.C. Cannon Survey and the present south line of
the Kennedale city limits„_ said point being 585.44 feet
west of the southeast corner of the J.B. Renfro Survey,
Abstract No. 1260;
THENCE south 42 deg. 08 min. east 280.6 feet to a point
for corner, being the southeast corner of said Seminary
Tract;
THENCE south 47 deg. 52 min. west 310.4 feet to the
southwest corner of said Seminary Tract in the northeast
right of way line of said Fort Worth -Mansfield Road;
THENCE continuing southwesterly at a 90 deg. angle to
the northeasterly right of way line of U.S. Highway No.
287 to the southwesterly right of way line of said U.S.
Highway No. 287;
THENCE northwesterly along the southwestern right of way
line of said U. S. Highway No. 287 to the north line of
the said E. C. Cannon Survey, said point being in the
present corporate City limits line of the City of
Kennedale, Texas;
THENCE east with the present city limits of the City of
Kennedale„ Texas to the place of beginning. (It is the
intention to herein describe for annexation the entire
property of Trinity Valley Seminary as described in and
acquired by a warranty deed from the Trustees of Bethel
Baptist Church to Trinity Valley Seminary, recorded in
Vol. 3596, at page 534, of the Tarrant County Deed Records,
together with that portion of U. S. Highway No. 287 abutting
said property on the west and intervening between such abut-
ting portion of the highway and the present south corporate
limit line of the City of Kennedale, Texas, on said U.S.
Highway No. 287.)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, as provided by law, at a regular meeting on this the
1st day of March, 1962 (which is more than five and less than
thirty days since the filing of said petition with the City),
duly and legally considered the said petition, hearing the
arguments for and against such annexation, and it appearing
to the City Council that all statutory requirements in
connection with said application and petition have been ful-
filled and that all of said area, on which less than three
aualified voters reside, is adjacent and contiguous to the
present existing boundaries and limits of the City of Kenne-
dale, Texas, and is not more than one-half mile in width,
all of which the Council so finds; now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF KENNEDALE,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the property hereinabove described
lying adjacent and contiguous to the present existing boundaries
and limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be, and the same- is
hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made
an integral part of the said City of Kennedale, Texas.
Section 2.- That the owners and inhabitantsof the
area herein annexed, be, and they are hereby declared entitled
to ali of the rights and privilegesof other property owners
and citizens of the said City of Kennedale, Texas, and shall
henceforth be bound by all of the acts and ordinances of said
City of Kennedale which are now in force and effect, and
which may be hereafter adopted.
Section 3. That the official map and boundaries
bf the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted and
amended, be corrected and amended, to as to include the
above described area and territory as a part of the City of
Kennedale, Texas.
Section 4. That this ordinance is adopted -subsequent
to the prior adoption of Kennedale Ordinance No. 62-2, and
all of the property and territory herein described was
included within the boundaries of the territory described
in and annexed to the City of Kennedale by said Kennedale
Ordinance No. 62-2, The sole purpose inthe 'adoptibh of
this Ordinance is hereby declared to be precaUtiOnary,
so that if the annexation of the larger territory by
Kennedale Ordinance No. 62-2 pursuant to the provisions
of Article 974, Texas Revised Civil Statutes of 1925, as
amended, should be hereafter declared to be ineffective
for any reason, that in all events the herein described
territory WilL±:be effectively annexed to the City of
Kennedale under the provisiors of Article 974-g.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall become
effective from and after its passage and approval by the
Mayor, duly attested by the City Secretary.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this the lst day of March,
A.D. 1962.

quorum was present, as is reflected by the minutes of said
Council.

TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF K. DALE,
TEXAS:
The undersigned, Trinity Valley Seminary, a
Texas corporation, of Tarrant County, Texas, acting by
and through its duly authorized undersigned officers,
being the only owner of all of the hereinafter des-
cribed land and territory lying contiguous and adjacent
to the existing corporate lioits of the City of Kenne-
dale, Texas, hereby petitions the Mayor and City Council
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, to institute all pro-
ceedings and to adopt all ordinances and do things neces-
sary to annex the said hereinafter described land and
territory and make the same a part of the City of Ken-
nedale, Texas, said land and territory being more par-
ticularly described a.s follows, to -wit:
BEING a part of the E. C. Cannon Survey, Abstract
No. 378, in Tarrant County, Texas, and described by
metes and bounds as follows:
BEGHIING in the present southerly corporate limit line

It is the intention to herein describe for
annexation the entire property of Trinity Valley Seminary
as described in and acquired by warranty deed from the
trustees of Bethel Baptist Church to Trinity Valley
Seminary, recorded in Vol se 3596, at Page 534, of the
Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, together with
that portiof of U. S. Highway No. 287 abutting said pro-
perty on the west and intervening between such abutting
portion of the highway and the present south corporate
limit line of the City of Kennedale, Texas, on U. S.
Highway No. 287.
Petitioner represents and hereby shows the
said Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, that the above described property is contiguous
and adjacent to the present city limits of the City of
Kennedale, Texas, is less than one-half mile in width,
is not now a part of any other municipal corporation,
and that less than three qualified voters reside on said
land and territory.

Whereas, the aforesaid Trinity Valley Seminary
is in the process of incorporation, but said incorpora-
tion has not been completed at the time of the execution
of this foregoing petition for annexation, so that the
President and Secretary of Trinity Valley -Seminary, who
have signed the foregoing petition, are in fact acting
as de facto officers of a de facto corporation; and
WHEREAS, the undersigned are all of the
Trustees of Trinity Valley Seminary, an -.unincorporated
association presently in the process of effecting in-
corporation; and are the governing body of said Trinity
Valley Seminary and as such, holders of title to.its
realty, until such incorporation is completed;
NOW, THEREFORE, we, the undersigned, being all
of the Trustees of Trinity Valley Seminary, hereby ex-
pressly authorize the aforesaid Dr. L. E. Miller, as de
facto president of Trinity Valley Seminary, a de facto
corporation, being the same organization as the Trinity
Valley Seminary for which we are Trustees, and the afore-
said de facto secretary, G. Harold O'Neal, to execute and
acknowledge the aforesaid petition for annexation of the
Seminary's aforesaid real property to the City of Kenne-
dale, Texas, and as Trustees of Trinity Valley Seminary,
we hereby expressly ratify and confirm said petition, and
hereby request the annexation of said property to the
City of Kennedale, Texas.
