05/06/1993, Special Meeting MinutesPage 2004 MINUTES OF KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MBETING - MAY 6, 1993 COMMUNITY CENTER Mayor Abbott called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. Members present were Mayor Abbott, Mark Wright, Robert Mundy, Pete Kirkpatrick, and Tom Boone. Ron Kovach was absent. Staff in attendance were Ted Rowe, Linda Gress, and Vicki Thompson. ITEM NO. 1 - Canvass May 1, 1993 General Election. Mayor Abbott read the following votes: FOR COUNCIL - PLACE 1 (Two Year Term) Mark S. Wright 254 votes; FOR COUNCIL - PLACE 3 (Two Year Term) Robert P. Mundy 243 votes; FOR COUNCIL - PLACE 5 (Two Year Term) J.D. Pete Kirkpatrick 272 votes; There were 432 ballots cast in the May 1993 election. Tom Boone moved to approve Resolution No. 16 Canvassing the May 1, 1993 election, second by Pete Kirkpatrick. Motion was unanimous. ITEM NO. 2 - Budget Update. Budget packets are to be delivered May 7, 1993. Different proposals on financing the 800 Mhz radio system will be provided. Questions for staff should be put in writing. ITEM NO. 3 - General Discussion. Ted Rowe stated the results on the lead and cooper testing have been received from the Texas Water Commission. The levels are about 1/10 as high as they could be and still be within limits. Forty samples were taken Por t;he test . All were well below the maximum levels. Page 2005 Ted Rowe stated that a volunteer fireman came out, as the top recruit for the class, as far as field work. Ted Rowe updated Council on Officer Dee Thedford's illness. Mayor invited council to the Senior Citizen Center for open house on May 10, 1993.
