PUBLIC HEARING - OCTOBER 13, 1994
100 E. BROADWAY ST. - COMMUNITY CENTER
7:30 PM.
Mayor Abbott called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.

Members present were Mayor Abbott, Councilmen Wright, Mundy, Boone and
Kovach. Councilman Kirkpatrick was absent.
Staff present were Ted Rowe, Kathy Turner, Vicki Thompson, Linda
Royster, Michael Box, Joey Highfill, David Geeslin and legal counsel,
Betsy Elam.
Public Hearing No. 1 - To receive citizens comments regarding a proposed
zoning change from "C-1" General Commercial District to "R-2" Single
Family Residential District, requested by Wayne Winters.
Mr. Carl Greer presented Council an aerial site plan and stated there
would be three half acre tracts developed for homesites. Speaking in
favor of the zoning change, Mr. Greer stated the property contains 324
feet of frontage from Little School Road which would remain under the
"C-1" district and the remaining 1.53 acres would be rezoned to "R-2".
In closing Mr. Greer opened for questions from council and staff.
Councilman Wright questioned water service to the area. Mr. Greer
replied that would be involved in the platting process and Mr. Winters
would handle this. Mr. Rowe replied that the sewer would go through an
Arlington line which empties into a Kennedale line.
There being no further discussion, Mayor Abbott adjourned public hearing
number one at 7:41 p.m.
Public Hearing No. 2 - To receive citizens comments regarding an
Amendment to Ordinance No. 53 which addresses the A & A Pickup and Van
operational regulations and restrictions.
Ms. Fern McKinley voiced her concern that A & A Pickup and Van has not
mowed their property that abuts up directly to Highway 287 mobile home
park.
Mayor Abbott directed staff to contact A & A Pickup and Van and to
follow up on the mowing violation.
There being no further discussion, Mayor Abbott adjourned public hearing
number two at 7:45 p.m.
