MINUTES OF
KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING - AUGUST 23, 1994
100 E. BROADWAY ST. - COMMUNITY CENTER
6:30 P.M.
Mayor Abbott called the meeting to order at 6:50 p.m.
Members' present were Mayor Abbott, Mark Wright, Robert Mundy, Pete
Kirkpatrick, Tom Boone and Ron Kovach.
Staff present were Ted Rowe, Kathy Turner and Vicki Thompson.
Mr. Rowe, City Administrator presented council with revenue projections
of capital items and unfunded budget items based on the city's rollback
rate of 0.573261. Incidentally, Mr. Rowe advised that all items could
not be budgeted with the current rollback rate and recommended a rate of
sixty cents (0.600000) which would be adequate to meet the funded
priorities, but it would be council's decision as to what rate they
chose to adopt.
Council then addressed the police department funded and unfunded
priorities as well as Chief Geeslin's five year projection of the
department. Also discussed were the court budget and the intent of
going with Court of Record due to the latest changes made in the
legislature that is resulting in a loss of money on collection of fines.
Mr. Rowe informed council that on Thursday, August 25th, the street
department, community center, and senior citizen center budgets would be
discussed.
There being no further discussion, Mayor Abbott adjourned the meeting at
9:30 p.m.
