Motion to approve the minutes of March 12, 2013, by Vickie Chandler, second by Fred Winters. Motion carried. IV. Visitor /Citizens Forum —None V. Regular Items A. Selection of plants for the bird/butterfly garden spring planting to include Salvia Greggii (3), Lantana (2), Purple Coneflower (18), Butterfly weed, plant or bush (2) Black Eyed Susan (12), Dusty Miller substitute, Colchester White (8), Bronze Fennel (6) and 16 bundles of pine straw mulch and two 40 lbs. bags of green sand. We will use the City's surplus compost. We decided where to place each plant in the garden. Larry Hoover will ask his employee, Charles, to build a bench for the garden. Larry, Michael and crew will pick up everything from Stegall's Nursery Saturday morning. The planting will begin at 9:OOam. B. De -brief Spring Clean event — Everything went as planned and expected. C. Discuss participation in the National Kids to Park Day, May 18, 2013, Kid Fish from 9am — 12 noon and Bark in the Park from Sam — 12 noon. Motion for KKB to assist by Fred Winters, second by Vickie Chandler. Motion carried. D. Future events for KKB — Plans will be made for a fall clean -up to be done in Sept. or Oct. (avoid 1 St weekend in Oct. for Methodist Fall Festival). The cleaning of a park or side streets may be the focus. The final decision to be made later. Larry Hoover will research if the clean -up we did after Art in the Park and the Texas Day Parade will qualify for accreditation. VI. Reports /Announcements A. Public Works entrance will be planted on April 13, 2013. VII. Adjournment — 7:18pm
