III. Motion to approve the minutes of December 12, 2011, with the addition of Rachel
Rogers name to be added to Members Present by Stephen Brim, second by Rachel
Rogers. Motion approved.
V. Regular Items
A. The Green Ribbon Grant was presented by Bob Hart. The Grant will provide the
landscaping of Kennedale Parkway. Shield Engineering presented their work
on the landscaping plan. Section A will begin at 1 -20 and continue to Village
Creek Road, Section B begins at Corry Edwards to Crestview and Section C
begins at Eden Rd and ends at the County Precinct building. Kennedale was
awarded the largest Green Ribbon Grant in this area. Belle Firma discussed the
constraints /restrictions of plant material for each section with examples /pictures
of the selected plants and landscaped pathways.
B. Texas Independence Day Parade - Michael will have more information at the
February KKB meeting.
C. Spring Clean -up, May 5, 2012. We will promote the Clean -up at the Open
House in January and on Face book and the website. Michael will seek
assistance from the Jr. High students and Interact Members will circulate the
information at KHS. The area to be cleaned is the Parkway. We will separate
the trash for recycling as we work.
D. Motion to purchase Board Member t- shirts, green w /white letters and white
shirts w /green letters for Interact Members made by Michael Chandler, second
by LaCresha Sanders. Motion approved.
E. City of Kennedale Open House - We will all participate at different times with
Michael being there from beginning to end. Pictures, pens, sign -up sheets,
Friends of KKB stickers and the KKB banner etc. will be displayed at our table.
Plan to set up at 10:30am.
F. Art in the Park - We would like to have an item to raffle to raise money. Perhaps
IESE would participate in providing the item. Kelly will contact Wayne Wooten,
of IESI, for a possible contribution.
Crude Cruiser Event will be on October 20, 2012. Kelly will talk to Larry Hoover
for assistance in selecting a location.
