Box 719 Mansfield, Texas 76o63 -0719 270o East Broad Street Mansfield, Texas 76o63 682.622.2000 I wanted to commend you on the excellent care that was provided to a fifty -one year old cardiac arrest patient. As you are aware this patient had bystander CPR in progress on your arrival. He responded well to defibrillation, intubation, and drugs. Once he arrived here he suffered significant changes on his 12 lead EKG and the Cath Lab was activated. Time of 911 Call 17:12 Time of First Patient Contact 17:16 Time of Defibrillation 17:19 Arrival to Emergency Department 17:54 Cath Lab Activation 18:05 Depart ED to Cardiac Cath Lab 18 :44 Time of Groin Access 19:00 Time of First Balloon Inflation 19:36 Door to Balloon Time 102 minutes Because the patient was so unstable he did not go immediately to the Cardiac Cath Lab. Once in the Cath Lab it was found that he had a 100% blockage of his Left Anterior Descending Coronary Artery (LAD). This was stented and the patient was taken to the Intensive Care Unit. Once in the ICU he was started on the Therapeutic Hypothermia protocol. He was extubated yesterday and is following commands and responding to his family. Thanks for the heroics of involved bystanders and the excellent care provided by Kennedale Fire Department this patient is doing extremely well.
