MINUTES OF
KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
REGULAR MEETING -DECEMBER 11, 1997
100 E. BROADWAY ST. -COMMUNITY CENTER
Mayor Mundy called the meeting to order at 7:41 p.m.
Members present were Mayor Mundy, Councilmen Steeno, Barrett, Boone and Kovach.
Councilman Wright was absent.
Staff present were Ted Rowe, Kathy Turner, Linda Royster, Lynette Whidden, Michael Box, and
legal counsel, Wayne K. Olson.
ITEM NO. 1-Consideration of minutes: Public Hearing -November 13, 1997
Regular Meeting -November 13, 1997
Councilman Barrett moved to approve the minutes from the public hearing and regular meeting
dated November 13, 1997 seconded by Councilman Boone. Motion carried unanimously.
ITEM NO. 2 -Consideration of Ordinance No. 145, vacating a portion of Pecan Drive,
requested by Wear Master, Incorporated.
Councilman Steeno moved to approve Ordinance No. 154, vacating a portion of Pecan Drive, and
to accept the offer from St. Louis Metalizing of $2,600 for the vacated right-of--way, seconded by
Councilman Kovach. Motion carried without opposition.
ITEM NO. 3 -Consideration of approving re-plat for Lot 2R, Block 1R, Woodlea Business
Park Addition, requested by Wear Master, Incorporated.
Councilman Steeno moved to accept the re-plat of Lot 2R, Block 1R, Woodlea Business Park
Addition, seconded by Councilman Barrett. Motion carried with all members voting in favor.
ITEM NO. 4 -Consideration of awarding contract for solid waste services.
Councilman Boone moved to table this item, seconded by Councilman Steeno. Motion carried.
ITEM NO. 5 -Consideration of Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors
BYLAW requirements and policies.
Councilman Boone moved to table this item, seconded by Councilman Kovach. Motion carried.
ITEM NO. 6 -General discussion.
Mayor Mundy wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
There being no further discussion, Mayor Mundy entered into executive session at 7:58 p.m.
ITEM NO. 7 -Executive Session.
The City Council met in closed session to discuss advice about pending or contemplated
litigation, a settlement offer, or on a matter in which the duty of the attorney to the City under the

Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas conflicts with the
Texas Open Meetings Act, including discussion on any item posted on the agenda, pursuant to
Section 551.071, Texas Government Code.
1) Fern McKinley v. City of Kennedale, Cause No. 17-159579-95.
2) Ken Pearce v. City of Kennedale, Cause No. 352-156704-94.
Mayor Mundy reconvened into open session at 8:05 p.m.
ITEM NO. 8 -Action on executive session, if necessary.
No action was required on this item.
There being no further discussion, Mayor Mundy adjourned the meeting at 8:07 p.m.
