MINUTES OF
KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
PUBLIC HEARING - JANUARY 9, 1997
100 E. BROADWAY ST. - COMMUNITY CENTER
Mayor Mundy called the public hearing to order at 7:33 p.m.
Members present were Councilmember's Wright, McCraw and Barrett.
Councilmember's Boone and Kovach were absent.
Public Hearing No. 1 - To receive citizens comments concerning an
annexation request by Mr. Daniel Ortiz. The property is described as
Lots 1R, 2R, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, Block 1, Clairemont Court Addition,
containing approximately 5.5 acres, located in the 800 block of
Pennsylvania Avenue.
No one signed in to speak for or against the proposed annexation.
Public Hearing No. 2 - To receive citizens input regarding projects
eligible to be funded under the Community Development Block Grant
program. This grant program is generally limited to street, drainage,
water or sewer improvements within the approved target area for the
benefit of low to moderate income neighborhoods. Eligible projects will
be identified for the twenty-third year (1997) with an estimated annual
cost of $115,000 to $150,000.
Mr. Rowe, City Administrator presented Council and citizens with a
overhead presentation reflecting the primary goals and objectives for
the Community Development Block Grant, as well as, staff's
recommendation for water line improvements from a six inch
(asbestos/concrete) line to a twelve inch PVC line on Little School
Road.
In addition, he said the line would run from Mansfield Cardinal Road to
Woodland Court and would improve water service and fire protection to
that portion of the City north of Mansfield Cardinal Road.
No other persons signed in to speak.
There being no further discussion, Mayor Mundy adjourned the public
hearings at 7:43 p.m.
