CITY OF KENNEDALE
RESOLUTION NO. 24
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS,
CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF A MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF KENNEDALE ON MAY 7, 1994, FOR
THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MAYOR AND TWO COUNCIL MEMBERS.
WHEREAS, heretofore on the 10th day of February, 1994, the City
Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, called for an election to be
held on said City on the 7th day of May, 1994, for the purpose of
electing a Mayor; and two Council Members, and
WHEREAS, said election was duly held at the time and place
specified after due notice as required by law had been given by posting
and publication; and
WHEREAS, there were voted at said election a total of 502 ballots,
on which ballots votes were cast as follows:
Mayor (Two Year Term)
Bill Abbott 307 votes;
FOR COUNCIL - PLACE 2 (Two Year Term)
Tom Boone 269 votes;
FOR COUNCIL - PLACE 4 (Two Year Term)
Ron Kovach 231 votes;
as is reflected by the election returns heretofore filed with the City
Secretary; and
WHEREAS, only qualified electors of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
were allowed to vote in said election; now, therefore:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
1. That said election was duly called; that notice was given in
accordance with law and that the election was held in accordance with
law; that due return of said election has been made by the proper
officers; and that the qualified electors of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, voting in said election, have duly elected Bill Abbott as Mayor;
Tom Boone and Ron Kovach as Council Members of the City of Kennedale,
Texas.
2. That the said Bill Abbott - Mayor is hereby declared to be
elected to the office of Mayor of the City of Kennedale, Texas for a
term of office of two years.
3. That the said Tom Boone - Place No. 2 is hereby declared to be
elected to the office of Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas for a
term of office of two years.
4. That the said Ron Kovach - Place No. 4 is hereby declared to
be elected to the office of Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas for
a term of office of two years.
5. That the proper officials are hereby authorized to administer
oaths of office and do all things necessary to install said officers in
their respective offices.
