O72-03CITY OF KENNEDALE ORDINANCE NO. 72-3 AN ORDINANCE CANVASSING RETURNS OF AN ELECTION ON THE PROPOSITION OF CONSOLIDATION OF THE CITY OF KE 'ALE, TEXAS, WITH THE CITY OF INGTON, TEXAS BE IT 0 AI BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS: 1. That the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, officially finds and detertines that the election held in the city of Kennedale, Texas, on the 26th day of February, 1972, on the question of consolidation of the City of Kennedale, T xas, with the city of Arlington, Texas, was duly called and held, after due and proper notice, by duly app inted and qualified efficers, that due return of the results of such election have been iade and de- livere.i, and that the City Council has duly canvassed said returns, all in accordance with law and the ordinance calling said election. 2. That the City COuncil officially finds and deterdeteriines that a canvass 'of the returns of said election shows that votes were cast at said election on such proposition as follows: FOR CONSOLIDATION AGAINST CONSOLIDATION. votes; votes. 3. That the City Co t cil finds that some voters at said election were not qualified electors of the city of Ken- nedale, and were erroneously but innocently allowed to cast ballots by the election judges, but the City Council further finds that the number of any illegal ballots would not be suf- ficient to affect the result of said election. 4 That the City Council officially finds and deter- mines and declares the result f s.id election to be that a ma- jority of the qualified electors of the City of Kennedale voting at said election voted against consolidation of the City of Ke nedale, Texas, with th- ity of Arlington, Texas, and that the proposition for such consolidation has failed to carry. 5. That in accordance w"th the applicable statute, no election can again be held on such proposition in the City of Kennedale, Texas, for a period of two years from the date of the aforesaid election.
