AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF VIN
DALE, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA BE MADE
A PART OF SAID CITY ' THAT THE 0

BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY. AS HERETOFORE ADOPThD,
AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
AS, pursuant to Article 9741 Texas Revised
Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended, J.L. Glaze, Mrs. J.L.
Glaze and Michael E. Bigler, each of wham is an inhabitant
and property owner in the hereinafter described territory,
and each of whom is qualified to vote for members of the
State Legislature,haveheretofore filed with the Mayor of
the City of Kennedale, Texas, an affidavit reciting that an
election has been held in and among the inhabitants of said
hereinafter described territory, who are qualified to vote
for members of the State Legislature, and that a majority
of such inhabitants who are so qualified to vote have voted
in favor of said hereinafter described territory becoming a
part of the City of Kennedale, Texas, which affidavit has
been duly certified by the Mayor to the City Council of said
City of Kennedale; and
WIEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, as provided by law, has duly and legally considered the
same, and it appearing to the Council that all statutory re-
quirements in connection with said affidavit and the annexation
of said hereinafter described territory have been fulfilled,
that an election was in fact held as recited in said affidavit,
that a lority of the inhabitants of said territory, qualified
to vote for members of the State Legislature, have voted in
favor of annexation, that said territory is adjacent to the
present boundaries of the City of Kestedale and is not more
than one-half mile in width, and that it would be to the best
interest of the City of Kennedale to annex the same, all of
which the City Council so finds; now, therefore:

Section 1. t the hereinafter described territory,
lying adjacent to the existing boundaries of the City of Kenne-
dale, Texas, be, and the same is hereby annexed and brought
within the corporate limits and made an integral part -of the -
City of Kennedale, Texas, said land and territory being des-
cribed by metes and bounds as follows:
BEING property in the J.M. Lilly Survey,
Abstract No. 980, and the J. M. Lilly
Survey, Abstract No. 985, in Tarrant
County, Texas, (including a part of
Oliver Acres, a subdivision of Tarrant
County, Texas, according to plat and
dedication recorded in "Volume 1383:
at page 586, of the Deed Records of
Tarrant County, Texas, and adjacent lands),
adjoining the present city limits of the
City of Kennedale, TSxao, and described by
metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the north line of
the.E.C. Cannon Survey, Abstract No: 378,
(same being the south line of the J.M. Lilly
Survey, Abstract No. 980), said point being a
present southeast corner_of the present city
limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and
being due south of the southwest corner of the
J.M. Lilly Survey, Abstract No. 985;
THENCE north with the present city limit line
of the City of Kennedale to a point for corner
in the west line of the J.M. LillySurVey,
Abstract No. 985, which point is due west from
the uost northerly northwest corner of the said
Oliver Acres Subdivision;
CE east to the said most northerly northwest
corner of the Oliver Acres Subdivision, and con-
tinuing east with the north line of said Oliver
Acres Subdivision to a point for corner, which
point is one-half mile (2,640 feet) east of the
present city limits of the City of Kennedale,
Texas;
CE south along aA.ine parallel to and at a
distance of one-half mile (2,640 feet) east from
the present city limits of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, to : point one-half mile (2,640 feet) due
east from the place of beginning, land continuing
south to the south line of the said Oliver Acres
Subdivision for corner, same being also inthe south
line of the J.M. Lilly Survey, Abstract No. 980;
CE west with the south line of the J.M. Lilly
Survey, Abstract No. 980, (same being also the
south line of said Oliver Acres Subdivision and
south boundary line of a public raid known as
Hiett Road), to the northwest corner of the
B. Jopling Survey, Abstract No. 880;
THENCE north with an east line of the J.M.
Lilly Survey, Abstract No. 980, a distance of
30 varas, more or less, to an ell corner of
said J.M. Lilly Survey, Abstract No. 980;
CE west with the south line of the J.M.
Lilly Survey, Abstract No. 980, (same being
also in part the south line of said Oliver
Acres Subdivision and in part the south boundary
line of the said Hiett Road), passing the north-
east corner of the E.C. Cannon Survey, Abstract
No. 378, and continuing west with the north line
of the said E.C. Cannon Survey to the place of
beginning.

Section 2. '4.t the owners and inhabitants of
the area hereinabove described and annexed shall be entitled
to all the rights and privileges of other owners and citizens
of the City of Kennedale, and shall be bound by all of the acts
and ordOnces of the City of Kennedale now in full force and
effect and that may be hereafter adopted.
Section 3. That the official map and boundaries
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted, be,
and the same are hereby corrected and amnded so as to include
the hereinabove described area and territory asapart of the
City of Kennedale, Texas.

Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor, duly
attested by the City Secretary.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this the 3rd day of April,
A.D. 1959.

That said election was held by the circulation of
a Petition among the inhabitants of said territory, the peti-
tion attached hereto being that circulated in said election,
and that the circulation of said petition was a method of
election satisfactory to a majority of the inhabitants of
said territory qualified to vote for members of the State
Legislature.
That every nhahitant of said territory qualified
to vote for members of the State Legislature was given an
opportunity to vote in said election by signing or refusing
to sign the attached petition, and that a majority of the
inhabitants of said territory qualified to vote for members
of the State Legisl ture voted in favor of annexation of said
territory to the City of Kennedale, Texas, oy signing the
attacned petition therefor.

We, the undersigned inhabitants and qualified voters
of the hereinafter described territory, hereby petition the
Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, to in-
stitute all proceedings and to dopt all ordinances and do all
other things necessary to annex said hereinafter escribed land
and territory and make the same a part of the Cite of Kennedale
Texas,,said land and territory being more particularly described
as follows, to -wit:
