AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF KENNEDALE,
TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT AREA BE MADE A FART OF SAID
CITY AND OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL
BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE . PRIVILEGES OF OTHER PROPERTY
OWNERS AND CITI. n `S. OF SAID CITY AND SHALL BE BOUND
BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE
HEREAFTER. ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING
AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID
CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED, FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHE S, pursuant to provisions of Article 974-g,
Ternon"s Texas Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended, Elza L.
Housley and Wife, Kathryn F. Housley, William Paul Winters,
R.C. Forman and Bill Davis, being all of the owners of real
property hereinafter described, have made application as by
law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kenne-
dale, Texas, requesting annexation to said City of the area
situated in the County of Tarrant, State of Texas, contiguous
and adjacent to the present existing boundaries of the City of
Kennedale, Texas, and described as follows, to -wit:
BEING property in the David Strickland, M.P. Lamar and
Thomas Beedy Surveys in Tarrant County, Texas,
described as follows:
BEGINNING in the present north boundary line of the
City of Kennedale, Texas, and the westerly right-of-
way line of the Kennedale-Little School Road County
Road No. 2013), said pointbeing also the point of
intersection of the westerly right-of-way of said
Kennedale-Little School Road and the north line of the
T.F. Rogers Survey, and all of the land herein
described being situated in Tarrant County, Texas;
CE northerly with the westerly right-of-way line
of said Kennedale-Little School Road to its inter-
section with the north boundary line of a five acre
tract of land conveyed to Elza L. Housley and wife,
Kathryn F. Housley, by deed recorded in Volume 3091,
at page 545, of the Deed Records of Tarrant County,
Texas;
T 'tit : CE north 89 degrees 20 minutes west with the north
boundary line of said Housley Tract 594+.7 feet to the
northwest corner of said Housley Tract;
CE south with the west boundary line of said
Housley Tract 357 feet, continuing southweth the
west boundary line of a 6.61 acre tract of land
conveyed to William Paul Winters and R.C. Forman
by deed recorded in Volume 3277, at page 671 of the
Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, 514 feet to
the southwest corner of said Winters and Forman Tract,
said point being in the south line of the David Strick-
land and north line of the Thomas Beedy Surveys;
T V CE south 89 degrees 22 minutes east with the
south line of the David Strickland and M.P. Lamar
Surveys, same being the north line of the Thomas
Beedy Survey, as well as the south line of said Winters
and Forman Tract, to a point in said line 50 feet
west of the westerly right-of-way line of the Kennedale-
Little School Road (County Road No. 2013);
CE southerly on a line parallel to and at a distance

of 50 feet west from the vsterly right-of-way line
of the said Kennedale-Little School Road to the present
north boundary line of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
in the north line of the T.F. Rogers Survey;
THENCE east with the present boundary linecf the
City of Kennedale, Texas, and the north boundary line
of the T.F. Rogers Survey, 50 feet to the place of
beginning; it being the intention here to describe
a tract of land in the Thomas Beedy Survey 50 feet
wide and adjoining the west right-of-way line of
the Kennedale-Little School Road and all of the
aforesaid Housley Tract, as described in deed appearing
in Volume 3091, at page 545, Deed Records of Tarrant
County, Texas, and all of the aforesaid Winters and
Forman Tract, as described in deed recorded in
Volume 3277, at page 671, of the Deed Records
of Tarrant County, Texas, egcept that portion
of the Housley and Winters and Forman Tracts
which are included as a part of the said Kennedale-
Little School Road.
Tnj 'Y- 5 the Ci y Council, as by law provided, at a
regular meeting on the day of February, 1959, duly and
legally considered the ai petition, hearing the arguments for
and against such annexation, and it appearing to the City Council
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, that all statutory requirements
in connection with said application and petition have been fulfilled
and that all of said area, on which less than three qualified
voters reside, is adjacent and contiguous to the present existing
boundaries and limits of the City of Kennedale, and is not more
than one-half mile in width, all of which the Council so finds;
now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ►° SALE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the property hereinabove described
lying adjacent and contiguous to the present existing boundaries
and limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be, and the same is
hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made
an integral part of the said City of Kennedale, Texas.
Section 2. That the owners and inhabitants of the
area herein annexed be, and they are hereby declared entitled
to all the rights and privileges of other property o ers and
citizens of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and shall be bound by
all the acts and ordinances of the said City of Kennedale which
are now in full force and effect and which may be hereafter
adopted.
Section 3. That the official map and boundaries of
the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended,
be corrected and amended, -so as to include the above described
area and territory as a part of the City of Kennedale, Texas.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall becoue effective
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, duly attested
by the City Secretary.

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF T!; CITY OF KE DALE, TEXAS:
We, the dersigned, being all of the oers of the
hereinafter land and territory, hereby petition the Mayor and
City Council of the -City of Kennedale, Texas, to institute all
proceedigs and to adopt all ordinances and do all other things
necessary to annex the hereinafter described land and territory
and make the same a part of the City of Kennedale, Te».s, said
land and territory being described by metes and bounds as follows,
to -wit:
BEING property in the David Strickland, M.P. Lamar
and Tho=+s Beedy Surveys in Tarrant County, Texas,
described as follows:

City of Kennedale, Texas, and the westerly right-of-
way line of the Kennedale-Little School Road (County

beginning; it being the intention hereto describe
a tract of land in the Thomas Beedy Survey 50 feet
wide and adjoining the west right-of-way line of
the Kennedale-Little School Road and all of the
aforesaid Housley Tract, as described in deed appearing
in Volume 3091, at page 54+5, Deed Records of Tarrant
County, Texas, and all of the aforesaid Winters and
Forman Tract, as described in deed recorded in
Volume 3277, at page 671, of the Deed Records
of Tarrant County, Texas, except that portion
of the Housley and Winters and For Tracts
which are included as a part of._the said Kennedale
Little School Road.
Petitioners would show the said Mayor and City Council of
the City of Kennedale, Texas, that the above described property
is contiguous and adjacent to the present city limits of the City
of Kennedale,- Texas, and is less than one-halfutle in width, and
that less than three qualified voters reside on said above des-
cribed land and territory.
